Thanks to all our wonderful supporters and participants Matthew House was able to not only reach our fundraising goal for this years run we wera able to surpass it. Your support is greatly appreciated as this run is one of our major fundraising events of the year.
Matthew House exists because of the simple kindness and generosity of those who care about the hardships faced by many refugees as it recieves no direct government funding.

The 22nd annual Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon (STWM), Half-Marathon and 5km Run/Walk will take place in Toronto Tomorrow Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 9:00 a.m.
Matthew House was honoured this year to be chosen as one of the Featured Charities in The Charity Challenge.
The Scotiabank's Toronto Waterfront Marathon (STWM) is one of only five recognized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). For the fourth consecutive year, the STWM has been awarded a prestigious Silver Label by the IAAF.

This year all 6 of my grandchildren will join me in lacing up our sneakers to take part in this fun and worthwhile event. As much as I'll enjoy the walk itself, the real reason I look forward to it is the opportunity to raise support for an organization that I'm passionate about -- Matthew House .

Not Just A Picture But Hundreds Of Stories
This thing, this Popsicle looking thing ...
... has played an important part in many peoples lives. The project it was used on when this picture was taken will affect the lives of many more for years to come. It played a role in a makeover for "Matthew House"a small refugee centre in Toronto.

Today was a great day as the volunteer crew worked away under the supervision of the Devine Design team.
An amazing amount of work has taken place in a very short period of time. With the help and under the direction of the Devine Design team. Past Residents and Volunteers stripped the living and dinning room of all furniture, tore out a wall and the old flooring. Next some new wiring was installed, some existing plaster repaired and some drywall installed and taped. Having done a few renovations over the years Barrie and I volunteered and helped with the tapping on Thursday. Friday was trim … (10 comments)

This weekend I am participating in the Scotia Bank Charity Run in downtown Toronto, in the 5 k walk.
Matthew House is one of my favorite charities, it is a small shelter for refugees in down town Toronto, that welcomes refugees who arrive with nothing but the shirt on their backs and no where to turn. On September 27th Matthew House will be participating in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Charity Marathon for the third year in a row.
This year a number of former residents of Matthew House will be joining the team! Their goal is to raise $50,000. For those who feel a full marathon is to much there is also a half marathon and a 5 km run (or walk!) Something for everyone!
Every dollar you pledge goes direct to the charity of your choice the very small administration fee has been prepaid by the registrant or their sponsors.
