This past week we took a little road trip up into cottage country to check out how our little hideway faired over the winter. Even though our place is high and dry we could not help but notice some of the damage done by the still swollen Muskoka River.

So far this year listing levels have remained lower than the last three years.   If the current trend continues we will see more sales for April 2013 than we saw in 2012, couple that with a lower inventory of listings and we can expect average prices to continue to rise.

The number of active buyers looking at homes for sale on one of our web sites in Uxbridge is holding steady while the number of homes for sale continues to climb. Potential purchasers looking at listing details Year to date are tracking just above 2011 but below 2012 numbers. If the current trend continues we will see fewer potential buyers looking at the details of homes for sale this year than we have seen in the last two years.

That may soon change thanks to a private members bill, The Electronic Commerce Amendment Act, 2012 that passed second reading today, co-sponsored by Progressive Conservative MPP Todd Smith (Prince Edward-Hastings) and Liberal MPP Yasir Naqvi (Ottawa Centre) back in may of last year.
The Electronic Commerce Amendment Act, 2012 will extend the protection afforded by the Electronic Commerce Act, 2000 to real estate transactions.
