Senario: Agent is purchasing home for herself. She intends to give up her part of commission in order to lower the purchase price, thus lowering her property tax obligation. Seller will net the same or more. How should she go about doing this? Would form CBC do the trick? Modifying the compensation to buyer's broker to 0%? Is there another form or another better way?

commission: Why did you pick to work for your broker? - 04/23/08 01:37 PM
What are your criteria for picking a broker to hang your license with? What make you tick? Do you change your outlook as you gain more experience? Some of the usual motivations are: commission, the name, convenience, training, office environment...
When I was a rookie agent way back when, I picked a big name because of the training they advertise. But after a while, I was just ready to move on to other companies that are less structured, where I can really be my own boss. I think also it has a lot to do with personality match.

commission: ever get frustrated with your broker? - 04/19/08 03:13 AM
Before I started my own company, I worked with one of the big guys, for the purpose of this blog, I will call it the Rock. Mind you, since I have been in the business a long time, I usually just do my own thing. Once in a while, I run into problem or a question and I would need the manager's help. My manager would always diligently write my problem on his yellow legal pad and tell me he will get back to me. BUT HE NEVER DID! I ALWAYS HAD TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM MYSELF!
