My Mom's "Kansas City Chicken-Chili Recipe" - great to make on a rainy day! - 03/20/11 05:56 PM
My Mom's "KANSAS CITY CHICKEN-CHILI" RECIPE It's raining like the dickens in Westlake Village, California! Great afternoon to enjoy the fireplace and slow cook my Mom's family recipe for "Kansas City Chicken-Chili". It's so easy and you probably have the ingredients on hand! If not, improvise! Ingedients: 2 Chicken breasts (Cooked, diced or shredded. I throw them in with some water, salt, pepper in a dutch oven on the stove and just simmer for a long time until tender, then shread. If you don't have enough time, just bake or even cook in microwave and dice up!) 1/2 or more Chopped (4 comments)
How is "farming" like the Spaceship Messenger orbiting around Mercury? The Spaceship Messenger has finally, after 6 1/2 years of rambling around the universal neighborhood, successfully entered into orbit around the planet Mercury. Now it has 12 hours to run completely around the planet! "NASA's Messenger spacecraft fired its main thruster in a 15-minute orbital insertion burn Thursday night to slow down by about 1,900 mph (3,058 kph), enough to enter Mercury's gravitational influence and settle into orbit around the planet. It's just all coming together and we are really ready to learn about one of Earth's nearest neighbors for (4 comments)
Are Non-Refundable Security Deposits Legal in California? - 03/17/11 12:13 AM
Is requiring a non-refundable security deposit for a rental agreement legal in California? The State Law in California states: A landlord can withhold from the security deposit only those amounts that are reasonably necessary for these purposes. The security deposit cannot be used for repairing defects that existed in the unit before you moved in, for conditions caused by normal wear and tear during your tenancy or previous tenancies, or for cleaning a rental unit that is as clean as it was when you moved in. A rental agreement or lease can never state that a security deposit is "nonrefundable." (217 (7 comments)

According to the Wall Street Journal (Feb 27, 2011) "Housing is the most affordable it has been in decades", analysts at Moody's report. Both in terms of prices and incomes. In the lowest level in 35 years, the cost of owning a home is equivalent to 19 months of total pay for an average family.
