If all you did was read the headlines in the newspapers, you would think every area in Colorado Springs has seen a huge decrease in housing prices. Not true!
As the chart illustrates, when you compare the pricing in Manitou Springsfor the last 4 years, the pricing has actually increased. In fact, the pricing in Manitou Springs for homes has increased by $25,000 when comparing the same quarter of 2008 to 2007, which is an 8% increase.

Colorado Springs and El Paso County merging governments?
As both entities continue to work on cost effective strategies for the future, this may be an idea worth considering. It's very similar to when two businesses merge; and as part of the merger they can reach cost savings by getting rid of duplicate positions and duplicate overhead.
