Just in from Ris Media Buyer Shopping Behavior respondents who purchased a newly constructed home report that they spent more time looking for the right house and visited more "new home" neighborhoods than respondents who purchased existing homes, or those who are still shopping. Total Purchased New Purchased Existing Still Shopping TIme Spent Looking in months 4.47 5.72 3.53 4.64 Number of HOmes Visited 8.51 7.56 7.47 9.17 Number of Neighborhoods Visited 4.49 5.27 2.81 5.08 Responses are national and indicate that buyers spent an average of 21 hours looking at real estate magazines and 87 percent of existing home buyers use th internet to view homes.
