Ann Arbor Area Board of REALTORS Market Report is showing signs of strong improvement in the sale of Vacant Land. As you can see in the chart below 2012 year-to-date totals for Vacant Land Sales have more than Doubled compared to year-to-date totals in 2011. Excellent news for builders as we look for new construction to emerge!
For residential homes, average sale price this year to date compared to last year is up .08 percent and average sales price this month 2012 compared to this month in 2011 is up .2.28 percent.

It's hard to be prepared for an event that could happen so quickly. We took cover in the basement when golf ball sized hail pelted the skylights and the sky turned green. See national news film of homes destroyed in Huron Farms subdivision.
We lost power and a friend who was driving, came over to take shelter when he saw the funnel cloud over Peach Mountain. My son called as he was driving too. He pulled into a gas station to avoid being pelted by the hail. Little did we know that our neighbors' homes were being lifted off the ground.

ann arbor real estate: U.S. Home Sales Rose - 02/29/12 01:12 PM
Existing-home sales rose for a third consecutive month, according to a January report by the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). Existing-home sales, which include recently purchased single family, townhomes, condominiums, and co-ops were up 5 percent from the previous month, to a seasonally adjusted rate of 4.61 million units. In total, 2011 existing-home sales were up 1.7 percent from 2010, and reached 4.26 million units sold.

The year 2011 ends on a positive note as the number of recorded foreclosures are down from 1399 in 2010 to 1129 in 2011 as noted below on the actual report published by Washtenaw County. This is such great news that we would have to go back as far as 2006 to find a lower number of total yearly recorded foreclosures in Washtenaw County.
