palm coast homes: Flagler County Sees Soft July But Still Up For The Year - 08/27/10 10:46 AM
Like the rest of the country, Flagler County and Palm Coast saw a dip in the number of home sale closing in July to the tune of about 28%.  103 homes closed in July of this year compared to 142 in July of 2009.  Year to date, the area still remains 7% above last year through August 25th in terms of the number of home sales.  August through 8/25/10 has seen 82 closings and is slightly below the same period in August last year when 94 homes closed.

palm coast homes: Kemper Still Aiming For Palm Harbor Golf Opening In Fall 2009 - 06/11/09 08:15 AM
Despite an excess of recent rain, Kemper Sports stated that they are "are still aiming for a target opening date in the Fall" in a letter to the Friends of Golf dated 5/18/09.  While driving past the course it is noticeable all of the work that is being done, the progress, and the challenges faced to restore the course.  Residents near the course are eager to see the course brought back to life.  Many of whom built in that are specifically because of the golf-community aspect of the subdivision and know the potential impact to their property values without an operational course.

  Obviously we are all inundated with negative news reports about the economy and the Real Estate markets.  It is true that there are economic hurdles present.  But I thought it important share some positives about the Real Estate Market here in Palm Coast, FL with Residential Houses.

What used to be "nice" services in our industry such as automated emailing of listings, has quickly become standard practice.  Consumers have voiced their wanting of this type of convenient and easy notification service when shopping for a property.  As most know, you can't send this type of information driectly from your own computer and most of us don't have our own personal servers (well, maybe some of those gamers out there that are Realtors by day and Halo'ers by night).  But are your customers getting their requests?  Not always.

If you've ever looked into buying a Tablet PC, you've probably noticed the prices are high and very difficult to find under the $2000.00 range.  I've been keeping my eye on them and constantly checking, and found the best deal I've seen yet . . . The Gateway C-141X.  The specs are great with a Pentium Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive for $999 plus a $70 off coupon (kind of a wacky thing, but it's there!) bringing the price to $929.  This is a full-size laptop with the tablet feature with a decent weight of 6.2lbs.  … (6 comments)

I recently picked up a copy of "House Lust" (as seen above) by Daniel McGinn, and am mezmorized at how much we forget and far housing has come over the years.  This book is a cultural study into what drives the obssessions with Real Estate (i.e. checking listings even when you aren't considering buying, visiting the neighbors open houses, home shows, etc.).  It's not a book filled with stats and economical analysis.  You'll often find yourself laughing while reading because you do some of those same things.
