This is one of my favorite spots in Venice Florida to vist. One of the few unspoiled beaches in our county that is just absolutely beautiful and relaxing place to visit. When I was in high school all the kids use to hang out here and have bon fires at night (which are not allowed now) but was great fun growing up.

This is a Banyan Tree which is one of the many different kinds of trees that line Venice Avenue. Venice Avenue runs east and west through Venice Florida and this tree is less than one mile from Venice Beach Florida. This tree is so big and my kids love to try to climb it when we walk to the beach (nerve racking for Mom but fun for kids).

Last night the Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota, Venice Florida YMCA, Venice MainStreet Inc, Venice Young Professional Group hosted Family Fun Night downtown Venice in Centennial Park. Free hot dogs, side walk chalk drawing contest, raffles and free movie, Yogi Bear. I brought my kids and their friends and we had a great time and the weather also was suprisingly gorgeous. My family here in Venice Florida has so much fun on Halloween. We carve pumpkins, go downtown to the Venice Mainstreet Halloween Parade where children dress up and walk down mainstreet for everyone to see. Then it is time for all the merchants pass out sweet sweet candy to everyone. It is loads of fun.

Today my son Michael, his friend Chris and I went down to the Grace United Methodist Church on the Island of Venice and helped with the unloading of the pumkins for Venice Florida's favorite annual Pumpkin Patch event. Many volunteers showed up to help unload the semi-truck full of pumpkins. Just how many pumpkins were there? About a million! I have never seen so many pumpkins before. With everyone working together it took about 2 hours to complete the task. Water, juice and donuts were provided to all. I love living in Venice Florida. I was at the Venice South Jetties yesterday (Wednesday!) at sunset. It is not that often that I take time out to enjoy our town but when I do I realize how beautiful it is to live here. I just attending a Green Real Estate Professional Alliance Workshop at our local board which was a program developed by Steve Wooster of Michael Saunders in Sarasota Florida to help our Realtors® association develop a new committee under our local board called the Green Real Estate Alliance. For Sarasota County property owners, you may have noticed a change in the assessed value of your property for 2008. In January, 2008 the voters of Florida passed "Amendment One" which includes four significant changes to the way property taxes are calculated:
