This is a course offered to engineer officers entering into theater to give them a knowledge advantage over their environment before they enter to their new station 

JEOC is a blended course consisting of both a distributed learning (dL) Phase and a Resident Phase designed for selected engineer officers, senior NCOs, warrant officers, and government civilians who may serve on a joint staff.  With a distributed learning phase for those that are unable to attend the resident phase but want to get the knowledge and abilities and insight into what joint between the services really mean. The dL (distance learning) Phase is open to all engineers for self-development in JTF engineer operations. Designed to be about 48 hours, this no-obligation, self-paced, self-development course consists of current information in support of joint theater operations.

I had a wonderful experience to be able to assist this program for a short period of time through several JEOC's and discovered that their is really a need for this course with the right leadership and forthright nature of those leading this program with an outlook towards the future; and though JEOC won't always be in the same state as it's present program it will leave an indelible testament to what can be accomplished with the right passion and that unstoppable force that create not only a course but a concept to be carried through training field and into the fight that will come in the future. 

Where else can one get that up to the minute briefing from a leader who is working and fighting in the theater, and many find this knowledge helpful and their first introduction to their new post they will be travelling too.  While this course gives knowledge and skills for joint theater it also gives a bases for networking and finding out the reachback capabilities for each services and how they can assist their fellow soldier in arms so to speak.

I have enjoy and  always impressed with the impact that the JEOC course has on not only the students but Facilitator's and SME speakers that give not only their time but wisdom, knowledge and considerable background to form a unique and in passionate course built for engineers by engineers.

The future may be uncertain but with this course it is a step in the right direction and with the vision to move forward and expand the audience base their will be no stopping JEOC and her team.
