Just received this email
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT UNMARKED POLICE CARS... Some knew about the red light on cars, but not the 112.
It was about 1:00 p..m. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on.
Lauren's parents have always told her never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather to wait until she got to a gas station, etc.
Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called112 on her cell phone to tell … (7 comments)

Another 15 inches for New York City - 01/27/11 07:57 AM
White on white, snow on snow, we're running out of places to put this stuff.  Today January 27, 2011 we just got another fifteen inches of snow.  I'm not sure where I'm going to put it.  Even though I like the snow, I must admit I'm getting tired of removing it from my driveway and sidewalk.  Backyard is OK, makes for pretty photos.  What do you think?

Thank you Mrs. Client - 01/25/11 10:44 AM
What a joy to be rewarded with a special gift at closing.  I did what was expected of me, got the unit sold, in a timely manner at a good price.  Received my commission, smiles and thank yous all around, buyers and sellers.  Smooth closing, only 55 minutes.  Then my client hands me a gift card for dinner for my wife and I at a local restaurant.  Now this is what makes my job so good.  People who appreciate their employees.  Thank you Mrs.  Client.
Can I sell another unit for you?

Weather for Staten Island, New York, Saturday, 22 Jan 11 - 01/22/11 08:17 AM
Sixteen degrees out side, 68 degrees inside.  What is the relative humidity of your home INSIDE?  You could save some $$ and FEEL more comfortable with the moisture in you home at the right amount.  Without overdoing it, adding moisture to the air makes you FEEL warmer.  Remember last summer with those dog days with temps in the 90's?  If you see moisture condensing on your windows, you might be adding too much moisture to the air.  Get yourself a weather station, 30 dollars or so will do, you don't need to buy a very expensive unit, this can help you … (5 comments)

Male Cardinal at my backyard feeder - 01/21/11 06:13 PM
What a joy to see the birds come for lunch.  Today, with a ton of snow on the ground, I video taped my favorite bird.  A Cardinal, who likes to come by often.  I photographed this through the glass in my sun porch, so you don't hear any sound, because if I open the window, he will fly away.  One minute of film, I'll watch over and over.  Enjoy!

Weather for Staten Island - 01/21/11 09:10 AM
Today, January 21st, we had 4-5 inches of heavy snow.  Plows are working just fine.  Neighbors shoveling before it gets colder in the day and the snow/slush turns to ice.  Tonight's forecast is for very cold temps and windy.  Don't forget to put some salt down on areas that tend to freeze and make walking difficult, like slopes.  And check in on that "senior", a great chance to make a few points.

How Far In Advance Should I Prepair My House For Sale? - 01/12/11 06:32 PM
How Far In Advance Should I Prepair My House For Sale?
If you have plans to move in one year, as if you were retiring, then start now.  Take videos and still pictures of your favorite spots, like your garden, backyard,

in different seasons.  That way if you sell in winter, you'll have summer videos and still pictures to show what the grounds look like in that season.  You may even do spring and fall if your garden is exceptional with bright colors.  We never know just what it is that makes a buyer fall in love with a property.

Staten Island Weather for Tuesday January 11, 2011 - 01/10/11 07:50 AM
Staten Island Weather for Tuesday January 11, 2011
A winter storm watch is in effect for Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning with 6-12 inches of snow expected.
Get your gas, milk and eggs today, not tomorrow.  Cold weather is expected after the snow, so make sure you do as good a job with removal because it's not going to melt afterward.
Check up on your neighbors to see if they need anything, especially the oldtimers.
Make bread, soup and cookies and invite them over for a little treat.  Make the most of this weather.

Who was the most influential person in your life in 2010? - 01/08/11 07:26 PM
Who was the most influential person in your life in 2010?
Speaking Real Estate of course.
In 2005, I received my Real Estate License in New York State.  Thought to myself, "I can sell houses".  Boy O Boy, did I have a lot to learn.  Thank the good Lord, I chose the right Real Estate Agency.  Little did I know how much I would need to learn to be a good Realtor.
Working as office manager, teacher, blogger extraordinaire, CMA coach, among too many other duties, was in my humble opinion, a very smart lady to whom I must admit, … (8 comments)

MOLD - 01/07/11 08:08 PM
Water Vapor Moisture in the air. We need it, we want it.
It can make you feel comfortable, or it can make you feel uncomfortable. Too much is bad for the house, and too little is also undesirable. So what’s a person to do? Let’s start with what we need.
Did you know that, in winter, some homes are dryer than the Sahara desert? True.
We heat the air in our homes without adding moisture, bad news for our sinuses and our furniture. Also, if the relative humidity in our homes is what it should be, between 50-60% in summer and … (1 comments)

Cheap Chicken Soup - 01/06/11 10:16 PM
For about a dollar, the cost of one onion, one carrot, two sticks of celery and the heat to boil 6 cups of water with the left over chicken carcase, rice, beans and a little garlic powder, TLC, I made a fantastic soup.  Makes about $12 dollars of can soup, but that's not why I made it.  I like my own over store bought.

I'm fed up with cold callers. - 01/05/11 05:03 PM
Cold call?  Why I don't do it.  Every day I get calls from people who want to sell me something.  It's very annoying, I'm  turned off with the caller, especially "if you want to reduce your interest rate dial 9 now".  I like my interest rate on my credit cards.  Can you beat 0%?  If I have the time to waist, I give them a long conversation saying nothing.  I think if we all did this, they would stop calling.  How do you handle this?

Error response: Status: 500 Internal Server Error
When I click on a blog post, my comments, or another blogger, I get a server message error.  If I wait for 10 seconds or more with the mouse on the name, most of the time I get through, but if I click as soon as the mouse is on the name, I get the server error.  Even on spell check.  Have you experienced this also?

To Sell or Not To Sell? That is the Question. - 01/02/11 11:36 AM
To Sell or Not To Sell? That is the Question.

We need to start with the Why question first.
Why do we want to sell our home?  Just to mention a few of the most common reasons.
Sometimes it's elementary, we need a bigger or smaller place.  If we like the neighborhood, and have enough land, we may consider adding on or building up.  If that's not an option, then we need another place.
We're retiring and want to be (near family, or warmer climate)
Job change, too far away to commute
Divorce.
Family member died, need to … (1 comments)
