31 Days of December Challenge, Day 28 - 12/29/10 11:00 AM
A client in escrow has some concerns about the property, and just what some modifications to correct deficits might actually cost. So, I met a contractor there early, client’s wish-list in hand, to try and get quotes for him. This week is actually vacation time for me, with my family all here until the 3rd.  However, I do still have deals in escrow that require attention.  Calls to title, emails to clients and check-in calls to lenders and title.  Part of working on business for next year is making sure I do a top-notch job on those in escrow this year.  … (1 comments)

Today begins what I hope will be a relatively calm few days with family before the holidays.  As far as keeping on track with business, I can only offer the following:  
Got paperwork signed with a client to complete all needed for his signing, hopefully on Wednesday afternoon. Caught up on all my finances with the expectation that the week after New Year’s, getting totals ready for my tax person will be relatively simple. One of our favorite family traditions is to visit the many homes in our city that had been singled out for fabulous Christmas lights and decorations.  After the family party on Christmas Eve, we’d pile into the car, and drive from house to house and be delighted and dazzled.  There are some traditional displays, and some truly imaginative set-ups worth a special visit. Gratitude Rainbow of Holiday Miracles - 12/07/10 04:22 AM
Last night I attended a Women’s Christmas Event at our local church, invited by a recent client. I’d never been to this type of celebration before, and it was amazing.  Talk about a Rainbow, the auditorium was aglow with lights and colors galore.  Nearly 100 tables of 8 were set with fabulous place settings and holiday decorations, lovingly created by each table ‘hostess’.  There were classic designs, whimsical themes, goblets and china, glitter and glitz. Aren’t these amazing?

More than just a girl’s night out, this was a celebration of women helping women, while celebrating the true meaning of Christmas.  … (16 comments)

There are a few little details you may want to add to your buyer’s checklist, just for your own peace of mind.
Change the Locks
It’s exciting to get those keys on the first day isn’t it?  (It’s exciting to hand them over, too).  But, don’t hang on to them.  You just don’t know who may still have one, and after going through all the hard work to buy this house, protect it!  Have all the locks changed the day you move in.  This is especially important on a foreclosed property, but even on a brand new home from the builder, … (26 comments)
