The Livermore Rodeo has a long tradition in our community. It’s origin dates back to World War I, when cities were assessed a fundraising amount for the war effort by the Red Cross, President John McClinchy of theStockmen's Protective Association responded with the suggestion of a town rodeo and a tradition was born.
This year marks the 94th anniversary of this local event, attended by residents and visitors alike. It’s a weeklong celebration of our western heritage, but one of the signature events is the Wednesday Night Mixer and Cattle Penning.
So join the fun.

Our fair city hosted the start point for last year’s Amgen Tour. This year, once again Amgen and Livermore connect. Only this time, it’s for the final stop of Stage 3 of the tour. For updates on street closures, check here. That means, that after the race is over, the bicyclists will be hanging around for a while – all the better for a photo or autograph opportunity.

NEW LOCATION: Southern Pacific Train Depot at L St. and Railroad Ave.NEW TIME: Sunday’s, 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.SAME: Farm-fresh produce valley, musical entertainment, and fun activities a jumpy house.
And yes, the Thursday Farmer’s Market will start up on May 17th, with Thirsty Thursdays (third Thursdays wine tasting and entertainment) and Family Night (first Thursdays) with games and entertainment for the little ones.  Same location for this local favorite – Carnegie Park.

What was spring like near the turn of the last Century?  Well, weather wise probably much the same. But enjoy the beauty of springtime blooms at the enchanting Victorian home and gardens of Ravenswood Historic Park.
Guided tours run every 20 minutes, where costumed docents will re-create the feel of the 1890s in period costumes. You’ll see the main house and cottage, as well as the lavishly landscaped grounds, often the site of spring and summer weddings.
