This story aired on the news last night.
I am saddened by what seems to be the lack of support from authorities in our Parish.
Seems that there is a dog stuck in the drainage system in Norwood Lakes. He was there last week while we had those days of below freezing temperatures. The neighbors have been feeding him and have asked for assistance in rescuing him. They were given a pole with a loop at the end... Doesn't make much sense to me. Many years ago, before I was an agent myself, my husband and I purchased a new home. We were very excited about our next move up in the housing market. If you live in East Baton Rouge Parish all forms of fireworks are illegal for you.
Cross the line over to Ascension Parish and you will find numerous fireworks stands filled with the delightfully fun explosives. Fireworks in Ascension Parish are legal except for the areas of Gonzales and Donaldsonville.
Drive a little ways down Interstate 12 into Livingston Parish and you will again find numerous fireworks stands just waiting for you to stop by. It is my understanding that fireworks in Livingston Parish are legal in all areas except for the cities of Denham Springs and Walker.

Oh, Parades! My heart races like it did when I was a child. The anticipation when you hear the sirens is so exciting, the sound of the big bass drum passing by with the marching bands, trying to catch the most wonderful throws, the excitement of the big finale...Santa Claus! I love a parade!
