And now for some good news about the local housing market: There are fewer properties for sale.
The number of single-family homes on the market in Dallas-area multiple listing services is down about 15 percent from a year ago.
Also Online Interactive map: Dallas-area home sales In some areas, the decline is even steeper. Dallas-area home price declines are continuing according to a recent Dallas Morning News article. "Local home prices fell by more than 4 percent in the latest monthly S&P/Case-Shiller home price index published Tuesday. The benchmark housing price survey found that Dallas-area home prices in February had dropped to the lowest point since April 2005."
