Before recessing, and after passing the Debt Ceiling bill, the House of Representatives passed a bill providing for another short term extension of the FAA Taxes and Trust Fund. Reid did not allow the bill to come to the floor for a vote and now there are 4000 FAA employees on furlough until after Labor Day (at the earliest), approximately 70000 construction workers off of FAA projects and a projected short fall of taxes (on the sale of airline tickets) of over $1.2 billion.

political morons: Nancy Pelosi - "Unemployment Checks Are One of Biggest Stimulus to Economy and Create Jobs" - 07/02/10 10:23 AM
Sometimes I cannot believe the stupidity I here coming out of the mouths of politicians, especially those in high federal office. Ok, we have Joe Biden who chews through so many pairs of shoes that he does stimulate Dexter. But now Speaker Pelosi insists that one of the biggest stimuls's that the economy can have is unemployment and the unemployment checks that go along with it. Is she dumber than a stump or what?
