business tips: Can Your Clients Depend On You? - 11/14/11 03:54 PM
There is much to be said about dependability. Sadly enough, today I stand waiting for a business to open. The sign on the door states that they open at 8 a.m. When I spoke with the owner on Saturday, he told me that they would be open at 8 a.m. So here I sit an hour later...it's not open!
It made me think about why entrepreneurs lose business to bigger companies at times. Why? As an entrepreneur, there are a few key elements to customer service that must not be missed:
1. Be open for business when you say you are. … (0 comments)

business tips: What A Dirty Mud Run Can Teach You About Real Estate - 10/19/11 12:42 PM
1. Get The Right Gear- I like to consider myself a pretty swift learner. On my very first mud race, I researched all the items that might come in handy for my race. By the time I showed up, I actually had people question me about some of the items that I chose to wear. By the time we hit the third or fourth mud pit those same people were commenting on how they wish they had some of the gear that I had. The lesson here is that without the right gear, you can get de-railed quickly. You find others … (2 comments)

business tips: Who Is Your Audience? - 10/30/10 10:16 AM
Being the the House of God is sure to bring revelation and inspired thoughts. After recently being invited to attend a play at a church, the thought of “Who Is Your Audience?” hit me. The play was being put on by a church that caters to gang members and those who have or are suffering from alcohol/drug addictions. As I arrived at the church that evening I took a very DEEP breath. The crowd did not look like a crowd that I would normally hang out with. Oh most were definitely dressed in stereotypical “gang attire.” My word! What have I … (4 comments)

business tips: Don't Make Yourself Look "Common" - 09/04/10 01:36 PM
Don't Make Yourself Look "Common."  Any girl who grew up in my family has heard this phrase more than once, uttered by the Matriarchs that ruled the roost. As a teenager, I was annoyed every time I heard this phrase. Well for one thing, I was annoyed because it was typically the way they told me that I could not do something. There are several professionals who send out emails relentlessly. … (5 comments)
