Salem Christian Homes 5K Run, Walk, RollWith a little over 400 participants, the Salem Christian Homes 5K Run, Walk, Roll took place bright and early at Cypress Trails Park in Chino. The annual 5K benefits the individuals with disabilities who reside at this Christian residential care facility. There were many residents out on the course assisted by staff, family and even fellow residents. The local Roadrunners Running Club was also on hand.

It was a very small and “semi-memorable” birthday celebration. “Semi-memorable” because as much as we will cherish the memories of the day filled with birthday banners, balloons, cupcakes, manicures and a rousing game of scrabble, my grandma probably won’t. Alzheimer’s disease is just like that. As we all took turns gathering around her little wheelchair, I often wondered would she remember any of it.
