My first blog

Hello all:

My first blog, I'm still in process of finalizing my web page.  I've been in real estate since 2004.  I started with a 3rd generation family business and hit the market right at the beginnibng of the real estate boom here in Orange VA.  My first day was 8/5/04 (my wedding anniversary) 10 minutes after setting up my desk I received a call and the lady on the line stated she wanted to buy a house but needed to sell hers first.  I met with her 20 minutes later and an hour into my real estate career I had my first listing.  That was a thursday, by Sunday I had my first ratified contract.  I quit my day job (I had planned to ease into the the real estate thing) on Monday and haven't looked back. 

I went on slight tangent there.  I have recently left that firm for a firm that's been around since April 2007.  I joined a ReMax office in Madison, Va due in large part the the unique business plan and national exposure.  I would like any suggestions on start-ups competing against firms that have been entrenched in small markets.
