How Interest Rates Affect Your Purchasing Power What are interest rates going to do?  No crystal ball here, but I do know they have crept up over .5% over the past 2 months. What that means is that you just lost 5% of your purchasing power.  The chart below illustrates the difference 1% increments make in what your monthly payment will be.    An increase of 1% in rate equals and extra $70,000 in interest paid over the course of a 30 year loan at $300,000!!  There is no way to time interest rates.  We are only off of our historical lows … (2 comments)

Placed an order today for some new boots for snowshoeing on Ebay.  One of the sellers listing at the LOWEST price also had feedback that was less than stellar.  Comments noted were: did not return phone calls, sent the wrong merchandise and several stating that merchandise was not sent on time.
Needless to say I went with a higher priced seller with fantastic feedback. Price is NEVER as important to me as service. Here is an example of the feedback system on Ebay:

Late 2010 I had an AWESOME and much needed vacation in Lake Powell, Utah and Vegas with a crew of my great friends.  We had an absolute BLAST and the last thing we did before leaving (well the LAST thing was to bang the BlackJack table for another $300 to the good guys) was to jump 108 Floors off of the Top of the Stratosphere.

This Blog caught my attention after being reblogged by Kathleen Cooper of JCKC Realty.  Claudette makes some fantastic points!  I would add, from a Lender POV, that most of these items can be remidied by a 203K loan!  Great idea, especially for 3,4 and 6 to let you seller know that if they cannot/are not remidied they have to prep themselves for 203k buyers that are savvy to the product.
