housing: Consumers Spending less, will it help home sales? - 05/30/10 06:46 AM
People are making a little more money now and spending less of it.  Will this put some money back into bank accounts and make them feel better on purchasing that new home?  chart below show increase in Real Personal Income.

This is a good read  about how we got in the mess and how to get out of it.
Basically there is never a "quick fix".  People have used their homes for a piggy bank for too long and with the market correction its making American savings rates problems noticed.

housing: Wall St. Journal article about Alan Greenspan and the Housing Market turning the corner - 08/14/08 04:59 AM
Alan Greenspan is the former Fed. chairman and someone that knows more about United States economy than anyone in the world.
I tend to agree with him that 2009 will see the floor of this market and establish a baseline to absorb the extra homes and turn the corner.  Also, it does not matter who wins the election in November.  They will get the benefit of this and claim it was because of them.  :)
