bend oregon real estate: Happy 2008 to all ye in the rain ! ! ! - 01/06/08 04:12 PM
Well now...it's been awhile. My working full-time and raising three girls has not afforded me much time to dance in the rain this year. However, as I take a moment to reflect on my aspirations and commitment to new goals, I couldn't help but take some time to acknowledge my friends here in the rain. For all of you, I offer words of encouragement for 2008 ! We are all seeing so many changes in the real estate market, it has become far too easy to contemplate the longevity of this down turn in our marketplace. My encouragement in this is to realize that it

bend oregon real estate: WOULD YOU DO THIS ? - 10/31/07 09:16 AM
While writing a comment back in one of my other posts, I was struck by this question. Would you provide link information to a SEXUAL OFFENDER REGISTRY for your clients? I have provided this link on my webpage in the past, to be used by my clients who are looking for homes. I see nothing wrong with it but am curious to hear the thoughts of other real estate professionals. Let me begin by saying that I do this for the protection of my client and often their children. It is in no way intended to single individuals out for persecution or attack.

bend oregon real estate: Cool idea for building...check it out. - 05/23/07 10:08 AM
A friend was over the other day and we got talking about about used shipping cargo containers. Most often, the container arrives at its destination and is of no further use. Although many businesses use them as storage, there is another great use for them and it's building homes. The benefits are wonderful and innovative and the idea is being introduced around the country. Excerpt from Carol Lloyd, SFGate.com article- "In this era of scouring the earth for the magic bullet in home building, few ideas can compete with the weird, pragmatic beauty of the used shipping container. Cheap, strong and easily transportable by boat, truck or train,

bend oregon real estate: What Makes a House a Home in Bend, Oregon or anywhere else in the world? - 05/22/07 11:51 AM
I am honored to be one of the judges for the What Makes a House a Home Contest by Colleen Kulikowski and I have to say, the competition so far is great. The posts are excellent and the decision will not be an easy one. My post is not about Bend or a childhood memory of grandma's house but it is about something I think most people will agree is equally important. What really makes a house a home? I'm going to put my own little spin on this and ask you, could a tent be a home? How about a cardboard

bend oregon real estate: Creating a seller/buyer toolchest for your website - 05/06/07 01:23 PM
On my website, I try to include information that I would use if I were the consumer. I offer a seller/buyer tool chest that does just that. Included is everything from mortgage lenders, banks, title and exchange companies to vendors offering services in everything from windows, doors, decks, painting and cabinet refacing to landscaping and concrete repair. Many of the companies I refer come from my own personal experience in having used them or from a previous building experience with my husband's construction firm. Some companies are referred based on my having spent time researching what the company is about, local connections, how long in

bend oregon real estate: The beauty of Bend, Oregon..A special place to call home. - 03/19/07 01:48 PM
This is a picture of Mt. Bachelor. I took this along with several other photos this weekend while out with my girls. My initial reason was to have more photos to use in my posts as well as for Localism.com. I found that once I was out shooting, I found a new reason. A reminder, so to speak. While taking these breathtaking photos, I remembered why I moved to Central Oregon. I revisited that feeling of being surrounded by absolute beauty and tranquility. I looked around my city and realized again how very much I love this place. From the amazing

bend oregon real estate: Measure 37- Good or Bad for Oregon ? - 03/09/07 05:55 PM

bend oregon real estate: Bend Oregon School Information - 03/09/07 04:17 PM
BEND OREGON SCHOOL INFORMATION For most families moving to a new area, the quality of the schools is an important consideration. Having three daughters of my own, I am proud to say that Bend has EXCELLENT schools. The principals, teachers and support staff are all very vested in our children and work extremely hard to ensure that each child receives a QUALITY education. Bend is served by the Bend-LaPine School district as well as several private schools. Please use the following links to get more information on the public, private and collegiate facilities available here. WHAT IS SO GREAT ABOUT BEND, OREGON? Why is Bend being recognized across the United States as one of the best places to live? I hope I can enlighten you all to the beauty of this gem that is also my home. Recreationally, Bend and the surrounding areas have so much to offer. Surrounded by mountains, Bend is located in Deschutes County in the High Desert of Central Oregon. The terrain is mostly desert with thousands of acres of protected USFS lands closeby. This provides for excellent HUNTING and FISHING. Deer, elk, antelope and turkey hunting are popular here and bring in many hunters from all
