I read a really good blog a few days ago by Jesse & Kathy Clifton  titled "The Enemy Within". http://activerain.com/blogsview/400628/The-Enemy-Within If you havent had a chance to read it, you should. Their blog got me to thinking.

In this world there are a lot of people asking "Whats In It For Me?" From this point I will call those people WIFM's.

When I decided to take another look at AR, I discovered something rare. I discovered a place where people were giving back to others what they have learned, I discovered people helping those who were discouraged; I discovered a place where the WIFM's were in the minority for a change. I knew that this was a place I wanted to be and that these were the people I wanted to know.

Yes, there are a lot of referrals being exchanged, but that didn't seem to be what motivated these people. They were really enjoying each other, helping each other and learning from each other.

Now, I don't want to mislead or seem naive. You will find some WIFM's here, but again they are in the minority.

In just a short period of time, I have met (so to speak) some of the most wonderful people in the Real Estate industry. I now have contacts in nearly every state.

I grew up with a very positive person in my life, My Mother. She always had some inspirational words to offer anyone in need. She could make you feel like you could conquer the world. She taught me to be humble but to always stand tall. Some of my friends would laugh at the "Stand Tall' part. I stand 5'1 with my shoes on. My Mom had a great impact on my life and who I am now. Maybe that's why I have always wanted to be a motivational speaker or get into coaching.  There are many who are looking for a positive place, a place where they are welcome and can receive those encouraging words.

My fellow AR members don't ever underestimate what a simple word of encouragement can do for someone.   

To those of you who are not yet members, if you are looking for a place where you are surrounded by people who truly believe in you, let me say that here at AR there are nearly 75,000 members who are ready to offer you a very warm Welcome and I, Kelli Patrick from Mobile, Alabama am proud to be one of them.
