This is my first blog, and as I sit here and write this I am itchy. No, I am not nervous and broken out in hives nor am I suffering from poison ivy from picking the wrong spot to watch firworks last wednesday. i am battling the real estate bug.

Last Friday I went on a listing appointment to a gorgeous horse farm that sprawled over acres and acres... seventy two to be exact. Trying to get a good idea of the land, I walked through acre after acre of woods and pasture getting a feel for the beautiful piece of property I was so lucky to have the oppotunity to sell. Well, little did I know that I was gathering critters as I walked. After arriving an hour later back at the beautiful Amish built custom home of the owner and sitting down at it's homemade oak kitchen table, I excused myself to the restroom. As I lifted my shirt to unfasten my pants, I eyed some spots on my belly. Ticks. In the course of a few seconds, I picked four ticks off my belly.

After a moment in the restroom, I headed back out to the kitchen to finish talking with the owner and the other agent accompanying me. As I sat there, I began to feel the ticks EVERYWHERE!!! Within minutes, I had pulled over fifteen off my body. I was squirming.... but trying to remain composed and able to talk with ease and confident. Aftert all, this man had picked me to list the farm because of my experience on horse farms. Yes, ticks come with farms, but never had I EVER been "smothered and covered" (in Waffle House terms) with the little creepy crawlers.

Long story short, I picked over 25 ticks off myself before getting home to strip, shower and search for more. Thank God I am now tick free, but that doesn't mean the bites don't itch!!! Does that mean I am done with the ticks...NO. I must, return camera in hand, and sprawl the farm again in search of the perfect pictures for the MLS! Who says the Real Estate bug doesn't bite hard! Only this time, I will be more prepared to handle that ticky situation!
