Monarch Butterflys - 09/16/11 01:25 PM
The Monarch Butterfly has been arriving over the last week.  More and more noticeable as I walk along the hiking paths of Santa Rosa Beach.

This past week was also a full moon and the locals gather behind the Red Bar in Grayton Beach to howl at the MOON.  It is a fun thing to do if you live here.  The weather has been just awesome lately.  Perfect blue skys and cooler temperatures.  I just love the fall here.  You can read more about how the Monarch Butterflys migrate on their way to Mexico for the winter.  Not far behind … (3 comments)

Okaloosa County Florida Sales Report - August 2011 - 09/09/11 03:29 PM
I just heard a speaker yesterday from Eglin Airforce Base, Col. Sal Nodjomian.  Sal told us that there is a real need for military housing.  Most of the pilots who will be relocating to our area will not want to buy.  They will want to rent for a year.  These pilots make excellent renters with excellent credit scores and the ability to pay.  They get a housing allowance of $1,250 per month making the Okaloosa Rental Market extra attractive where monthly rents usually are less than this per month.  As rentals become more in demand then rent prices will go up.  … (1 comments)

Panama City, FL Real Estate Sales August 2011 - 09/08/11 04:59 PM
Single Family Homes in the month of August were up 30.68% over August of 2010.  For the year, real estate sales of single family homes are up 21.58% for the year over last year.
Condos and Townhomes are significantly up.  They were 59.38% up over August of 2010 and for the year are up 35.80%.  In fact, inventory is dropping so significantly right now in Panama City Beach that really great buys on condos are slowing disappearing.  This is great news.
The only category that dropped in sales were Residential Lots.  They fell off by 4.05% for the month over same … (0 comments)

Weathering the Storm - 09/06/11 11:36 AM
Yesterday we have wind gusts of up to 70 mph in the area at times.  Rain was everywhere, but the day after is the best.  I woke up to 65 degree dry weather and clear blue skies.  Absolutely stunning across the area this morning. 
One local home in the Blue Mt. Beach Area had some roof damage and we had some downed trees, but overall we weathered the storm.
On Sunday night I got to see a performance by the RETURN.  They are a Beatles Reunion Band that have the style and music of the Beatles down pat.  What fun.  Yes, … (0 comments)
