Great Way to Support Friends/Family/Customers Who Lose a Pet - 11/18/09 09:15 PM
Just about all of us have or know of someone who has a pet, someone with fur who often rules the house and those in it as well.  What do you do when someone you know loses a pet.  About 10 years ago I discovered a terrific way to tell people I know "I don't know how you feel" but I do care as you grieve the death of your pet.
Today I received an email from a friend who had received a notice from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary as a result of the donation made in her dogs name.  She … (8 comments)

Colorado Springs, known for its outdoor activities and recreation is now getting a Rock Climbing Gym downtown. The owners of a Rock Climbing Gym in Monument, 20 minutes North of Colorado Springs, have found a building that meets the unique requirements for this type of business.   With a 45' wall there is plenty of room for novice & experienced climbers to test their skill, incorporate new techniques and have a lot of fun.

Even better, the building will house an outdoor and physical fitness community center with a cafe for meeting before and / or after a ride, climb, … (0 comments)

Colorado Mountain Land - Two Incredible Finds - 11/14/09 05:51 PM
Fall in the Colorado Rockies seems to bring out a beauty in land that is often missed with all the other flowers and blooms competing for attention.  With 75% of our state already Government land there is a limited amount of acreage that is available to be sold to begin with.  I like to highlight beautiful properties that are priced well and today we have two.

38.98 acres 30 minues northwest of Canon City is rich with history and stories ready to be told.  Camp or build your cabin using the remains of an old and rustic pioneer cabin.  … (2 comments)

Winter Emergency Kit for Your Car - 11/14/09 04:53 PM
With today's winter storm warning in effect I thought writing about creating & keeping a "winter car kit" in your car would be a good topic.
Keeping an emergency kit in each of your cars is not as difficult as you might think.  You can buy them "pre-packaged" and ready to go from car clubs, car accessory stores or make your own.  Here is a list of ideas for what to include:
•   Jumper cables
•   Blanket (thermal not cotton is better)
•   Flashlight & extra batteries
•   Shovel
•   Bottled Water
•   High energy foods (energy bars, dried fruit, nuts, etc)
•   Fire extinguisher
•   First aid … (3 comments)

Colorado Springs Open House - 391 Irvington - 11/13/09 02:28 PM
Every once in a while a house comes along that seems to go above and beyond the regular, descriptive words.  Irvington is much more than a house ~ more like a piece of Art that also has the feel and warmth that makes "the heart of a home".  Captivating as you drive up and come through the massive front door the warm custom wall colors seem to invite you in.  With every step there is something to catch your eye, bring a smile to your face or bring the dream of a quality home to life in your mind.

Veterans Appreciation - 11/11/09 03:53 PM
There are a lot of holidays that celebrate many important and meaningful events, moments & traditions in our lives.  My Dad was a career Army officer and genuinely loved every minute of it. I'm sure there were times when going off to war was not his first choice, nor the sacrifices made in that time but he so believed in protecting our country and its people. Out of all the holidays that I called him for, even his birthday, calling him on Veterans Day to say, "Thanks Dad" was always meaningful to him and something special that we shared.
