Small Living - Is it right for you? - 10/31/11 09:52 PM
There has been a lot of publicity lately about small living and ways to do it yourself for $60,000 or less. This is an incredible opportunity for anyone wanting to own their own house, build their own house, build a portable house, live more environmentally friendly, grow closer to their family, or have more land to play on. Let’s look at the amazing opportunities one-by-one.
Homeownership – So you want to OWN your own house. At $60,000 or less, it is such a small amount of money in comparison to the average house mortgage ($183,900 in Colorado Springs, CO according to Realtor.org) that … (0 comments)

It's Time for Throw Blankets - 10/31/11 09:50 PM
It’s time to break out the throw blankets folks! The air is getting cold and crisp, so it’s time to snuggle in with warm beverages, good books and a great blanket. This year I’ve seen throw blankets really make big decorating pops that are worth considering for your own home.
The porch areas. Don’t give up sitting outside because it’s cold out there. Set out throw blankets over chairs to create a warm welcoming touch to an otherwise cold space. If you buy a second property say a townhouse, condo or house with a postage stamp-size yard, in a desireable part of town, you can easily rent it out to others who know they won’t be in a house for 5+ years, or who couldn’t qualify … (2 comments)

365 Things to Do in Colorado Springs ~ Day 74 Kayak Eleven Mile - 10/25/11 10:33 PM
Ahh, the fall weather is starting to come in, so what better time than to load up the kayak and hit the water?  If you don’t have a kayak, there are several outfits along the Front Range which rent the boats by the day.

Eleven Mile is off of Hwy 24, west of Woodland Park. A short drive away from the bustle of Colorado Springs, and you find yourself not only staring at mountain views, but water too. Eleven Mile allows boats, but there are plenty of areas to paddle without much wake. This time of year is especially great … (1 comments)
