With warmer than average weather the desire to be outside is easy to fulfill.  For those with kids there is a great new reason to go to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo whether you  have been there before or no.  Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is proud to announce the arrival of our their newest baby giraffe.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Giraffes

This 5'4 baby boy will be named 30 days after being born per Cheyenne Mountain zoo protocol.  He is already 104 pounds and growing.  Did you know that giraffes usually stand within a half hour to one hour of their birth?  This is also the 21st giraffe baby born at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo since January 2001.

Here is a link to the Giraffe cam to visit via the internet.  The Cheyenne Mountain zoo is not only full of animals and a gorgeous mountain setting but our mild winter temperatures recently offer all of us to spend a day at the zoo and learning about how the staff care for new babies and their mommies.
