Please share your success stories! - 12/24/07 11:00 PM
Please share your success stories with us. I know it would be encouraging to me to hear that someone is actually closing deals using HouseValues. I've been told by people that this is a long term marketing plan. That may be so, but it's an expensive marketing plan that hopefull will

Can you accept a holiday gift from another settlement provider who is in a position to refer business to you? - 12/20/07 08:58 AM
This is a good question: Can you accept a holiday gift from another settlement provider who is in a position to refer business to you? I came across this question when reading my Weekly MRIS e-news. At the bottom was this questions with a link to news from RISMedia. So I clicked and

Some of my favorite Chistmas rock songs/videos... - 12/19/07 08:36 PM
This is a list of some of my favorite Christmas rock songs/videos. I like the older rock tunes. Back in the 1970s I was transformed into a rocker... and then in the 1980s into a head banger. I'm still a head banger at heart, but I still like all styles of

Do Christmas decorations influence the possible sale of a house? - 12/17/07 11:31 PM
I was wondering if Christmas decorations influence the possible sale of a house? I haven't had a listing during Christmas time before, so I don't have any experience with this. Now that I think about it... there are 2 types of Christmas decorations. Christian decorations (ie baby Jesus, manger scene, wise

So... how many leads have you signed up for? - 12/15/07 07:29 PM
So... how many leads have you signed up for? I signed up for 6 leads in the area where I live. Obviously, cost was a consideration. Being that I'm totally new at this, I wasn't sure if 6 was enough or too much. But then again... how much is too much? I

Do you know what a FROG is? - 12/14/07 11:23 PM
I didn't until the other day... Finshed Room Over Garage Sometimes we want to jam a ton of abbreviations or acronyms into the remarks section of a listing. This sort of reminds me of that phone commercial with the kid talking to her parents in acronymns. It's funny when the parent tries to

Cost vs. Value web page. - 12/13/07 07:15 PM
I was reading my NAR e-mail and it pointed to the www.costvsvalue.com web page. Good information. I have had people ask me about projects before they put their house on the market. Being that I have a building background and home inspection background I can normally give them a ball park

Just out of curiosity... who has the most real estate designations? - 12/12/07 10:27 PM
I'm going to be getting my ABR designation after I sell a few more houses as a buyer's rep. I passed the ABR test today. Wohoo. One of my instructors, for the ABR class, had at least 7 designations. It appears that the main designations are GRI, ARB, CRS and e-Pro. Just out of curiosity... who

I wonder how many agents are not going to renew their dues for next year? - 12/12/07 09:39 PM
I personally know of an agent that is not going to renew her dues for next year. I talked to some people at my association and they think that there is going to be a lot of agents not renewing. Our area has a dense real estate agent population. In my

I Passed My ABR test. Wohoo... - 12/12/07 09:31 PM
I passed my ABR test today. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. The instructors were great. That makes a big difference. All I need to do is sell 4 more houses as a buyer's rep and I'll be elgible to start using the ABR designation.

ABR designation is good for listing agents, too! - 12/11/07 05:04 PM
This week I finally got around to taking the ABR classes. I needed the hours for renewing my license so I said why not?. I basically don't like working with buyers. I like listings. As slow as things are now, I'd take either. I know the listing agent's and buyer's agent's goal
