Blessings Texas and Houston in general have faired well during the nation wide meltdown. The Woodlands specifically has been super-duper blessed.
Take a look at these graphs. Notice the steady-Eddie stability. These pictures show both Average Sold Price and Median Sold Prices over a two year period. Also, as I reported earlier, written sales in March were up 30% compared to March 2009.

Congress has passed a $300 Billion Dollar Housing Bill and President Bush sez he'll sign it. A couple of key points: 1. " a $300 billion program to refinance loans for struggling borrowers, and a dramatic rescue plan for embattled mortgage finance firms Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac." 2. It also includes tax relief for future home-buyers and current homeowners. Those buying a home between April of this year and through June of next year would receive a tax credit for 10% of the value of their home, up to $7,500, while current homeowners who do not itemize their tax returns … (0 comments)

I lead a two day workshop, it's one of six Fast Start Real Estate Training modules. The official name, Business Development & Prospecting. I call it "Creating Cataclysmic Perpetual Prosperity", Casting Tall Shadows and Looming Large" and "Seductive Odd Angle Conversations and Confident Persuasion". Because it sounds cooler, more accurate.

My take on CATS - they do what they please, when they want. To me, CATS actually look arrogant...I can easily picture a CAT, smirk-smoking a Camel. Just like in my semi-dream.

Here's what's happening in The Woodlands Real Estate Market - View Point, by Ken Brand.
For SellersFor Sale/Listing Inventory is up 7.9% compared to last year's inventory. In January (see graph) For Sale/Listing Inventory was up 21.9%. Considering angst fueled by national media and the fact that every year 100's of newly constructed homes are added to the overall pool of potential listings, a small increase of 7.9% is nothing to be concerned about. In The Woodlands, foreclosures,lost jobs and declining real estate values are NOT a problem (thankfully).

How do you interact and communicate with people who are angry, aggressive, combative, irresponsible, unreasonable and emotional? Words are more than words right? Example: Speeches by MLK, JFK, William Wallace. Books by Shakespeare and Tom Robbins. Screen Play and Movies: Forest Gump, Glenngary Glenn Ross, Schildler's List & Pulp Fiction. Conversation with friends, loved ones, clients, customers and prospects. Words matter.
Words, word combinations, rhythm, meter and rhyme, where to begin, shadow and silence, how to end and what to leave out.

I've been to plenty-o-annual-real estate-conventions in my 29 year real estate adventure. The last 29 or so, well, they're all blurry-similar -- conventional conventions. That's not to say that attending isn't valuable or worth while...if your approach is unconventional, there is plenty to ignite a personal lighting storm of transformitive thought, action and success.
