I have been working with a tremendous amount of renters recently.
One gentleman, a nice young man with good income and sterling credit found a home to his liking this last Saturday...
Good location.  Nice neighborhood.  Manageable rent...
"I'll take it!" he proclaimed after viewing the home.
So I wrote up the paperwork and submitted it to the listing agent.
"Oh we already have two other applicants, but email me his application," she said.
Not new to the rental business, I understood.  A recent rental listing of mine was getting 3 to 5 inquiries a day.  The rental business is exploding...

I was referred a client about two weeks ago.
Nice guy.  Good income.  Great credit.
He wanted to rent a home in either Aurora or Naperville, and he was anxious to do it...
I set him up with an email search, and showed him one that met his needs.  He loved the home and the location...
Since he was a newer client, I hadn't yet run his credit, so I submitted his credit authorization to my mortgage broker who is always quick to respond with a credit report...

I was perusing Facebook yesterday when I noticed a post that caught my eye...
TruliaPro posted a link that said "We've got three tips to help you impress them and win their business", and it made me think...
Do we really need to "win" the business?
The harder I try to impress, the less impressive I am.  The more I talk, the more often I put my foot in my mouth, and, actually "lose" the business.
When I meet with a client, that client has generally contacted me.  And they chose me for a reason...
