palm realty restaurant series: The Shuck Shack Soft Opens in Satellite Beach
- 07/26/18 10:56 AM
The residents of Satellite Beach have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the new restaurant at the corner of A1a and Cassia Blvd. After Irma stormed through our town 10 months ago, A NY Pizza permanently closed down. I for one was bummed to lose a local eatery, BUT, The Shuck Shack quietly opened on July 24th and I for one am quite pleased. The soft opening was nothing short of amazing. Tuesday saw the local Satellite Beach residents in droves welcoming The Shuck Shack with open arms! I went in last night for dinner and was very pleased with what I

palm realty restaurant series: Crush Eleven to Move to Downtown Melbourne
- 10/06/17 11:36 AM
Those of you that know me know what a crazy foodie I am. I am always excited by new, innovative restaurants. Crush Eleven, the upscale-casual restaurant that I introduced you to in May of 2016 is moving to downtown Melbourne. Crush Eleven's is moving to the historic Flatiron Building that The Firehouse Restaurant and Lounge used to occupy. Crush Eleven owner Mona Foy says: "We're going to be super sad to leave Cocoa Village. We've made so many friends there. But we've got a really good customer base in Melbourne as well." The move is expected in mid-November with the Cocoa Village restaurant staying

palm realty restaurant series: A Grand Slam for Rogue River Taproom!
- 07/02/17 06:23 PM
So after a long hard weekend of constant work, I decided to retreat to Rogue River Taproom for some much needed relaxation. This is my restaurant, my respite, my "Cheers". Chef Dov hit is out of the park today, but then that's nothing new! Chef Dov is the chef at Rogue River Taproom. He is a former chef at The Fat Snook and Crush 11 and is upping his game at Rogue River. My friends and I just asked the chef to feed us...and feed us he did! We started with a fish dip that was amazing, creamy and sweet. Sweet may

palm realty restaurant series: Rogue River Taproom Opens With An Open House In Indialantic
- 06/09/17 09:26 AM
There is a new restaurant called Rogue River Taproom that is going to be like nothing seen before on the Space Coast! Chris Engleby, who is the former regional manager for The Fat Snook and Crush 11, is opening Rogue River Taproom in Indialantic. Rogue River is a restaurant like none other. Yes it is a taproom, yes there will be 16 different beers on tap. The big difference is that Chris and his chef (who comes from Ocean 302), are raising the bar on their food to a new level! Rogue River Taproom is hosting an Open House event tomorrow June

palm realty restaurant series: Nini's Restaurant Cuban Cuisine, Indialantic, FL
- 03/05/17 11:55 AM
After coming back from the Grant Seafood Festival yesterday, my friend Sandy and I decided that we didn't feel like cooking so we thought that we would try a new restaurant in town called Nini's Restaurant Cuban Cuisine. Nini's Restaurant is tucked away on the southeast corner of 5th Avenue and Shannon in a space that was most recently a coffee shop, Nini's Restaurant Cuban Cuisine is less than 1 block from my office which makes it very for me an nice for lunches! Nini's Restaurant is an absolute breath of fresh air taking into consideration the choice of restaurants in the

palm realty restaurant series: Indique Fine Indian Cuisine, West Melbourne, Florida
- 11/21/16 01:08 AM
This past week I had the pleasure of enjoying an absolutely wonderful lunch at Indique Fine Indian Cuisine in West Melbourne. I do enjoy Indian food, and I can honestly say that Indique is raising the bar for food in the Melbourne area. I don't exactly know what is so different about this wonderful gem, but, the flavors are more robust and just plain good! The lunch buffet fron 11:30 - 2:30 pm is an excellent value. The tandoor chicken was moist and delicious. Often on buffets it is dried up and tough, not here! Apparently there is a restaurant with the same

palm realty restaurant series: Hemingway's Tavern, Melbourne, FL
- 08/17/16 06:14 AM
Hemingway's Tavern is a fun watering hole located next to the Premier Oaks Theater in Melbourne. As the name implies, Hemingway's Tavern is a nod to one of Key West's most famous residents Ernest Hemingway. The decor at Hemingway's Tavern is pure Key West through and through, all the way down to the live feed of the Southernmost Point from Key West on the flat screen TV's. The menu is varied and includes everything from burgers to seared Ahi tuna, pulled pork sandwiches, conch fritters, yard bird (chicken), crab cakes and fish prepared a variety of ways. Cocktails include margaritas and

palm realty restaurant series: Thai Thai Bistro, Indian Harbour Beach, FL
- 07/26/16 01:00 AM
Tucked away in the strip mall that is anchored by Walmart and Winn Dixie where Eau Gallie meets A1a is a little restaurant called Thai Thai Bistro. After working a long day yesterday I stopped in to pick something up for dinner on my way home. This little place was completely empty so I didn't have long to wait for my beef and vegetables in green curry. The aroma on my way home was heavenly. My dinner consisted of white rice with the curry in a separate container. The taste of the green curry was delightful. Unfortunately, that's as far as it went.

palm realty restaurant series: Ocean 302 - Melbourne Beach, Florida
- 07/21/16 08:00 AM
Ocean 302 is a wonderful beachside restaurant that is owned by the same fine folks that run my favorite food store, Melbourne Beach Supermarket. In fact, both venues are located in the same strip mall on Ocean Ave in Melbourne Beach. Ocean 302 is a wonderful breath of fresh air! Given that we live in a small community, it has been my opinion that there is a real lack of great restaurants other than Italian. We have a lot of Italian restaurants here. Ocean 302 is a superb addition to our community. I went for lunch today and was impressed by the

palm realty restaurant series: Buri Thai & Sushi, Indialantic, FL
- 07/12/16 06:58 AM
One of the things that surprises me the most about this area is the lack of really excellent sushi given that we live on the ocean! Buri Thai & Sushi goes a long way in correcting that issue. Located across the street from the ocean in Indialantic, Buri Thai & Sushi is owned by the same man that made Thai Thai II a few blocks up the beach a success. The owner, Tat (who was trained in making sushi in Miami), sold Thai Thai II and opened up Buri Thai & Sushi and I am glad he did! Uni (sea urchin) and fresh

palm realty restaurant series: Crush Eleven, Cocoa Village, FL
- 05/22/16 02:45 AM
Crush Eleven is the sister restaurant to The Fat Snook in Cocoa Beach. These two restaurants are on the upper end of the dining scale in Brevard County. I had heard a lot of buzz about Crush Eleven and recently I helped the general manager, Chris, buy a new home. So, my friend Angela and I went in to see what all the talk was about. We were not disappointed. Our servers name was Nathan, and in my opinion, if your server can explain, in detail, how your meal will be prepared the way that Nathan did, that is a very

palm realty restaurant series: Charlie & Jakes Moves in Indian Harbour Beach
- 05/05/16 11:49 AM
Locals may remember the Rum Island Grill. It was a pricey and somewhat pretentious eatery located at 490 E Eau Gallie Blvd in Indian Harbour Beach. Originally it is called the Rum Fire Grill, but it changed it's name to Rum Island Grill, reportedly because of copyright infrigement or something like that. In any case, it recently closed and I had been wondering what was going go take it's place. Question answered! The very popular Charlie & Jakes BBQ that I told you about a couple of years ago and located across the street is moving into the larger facility. When I

palm realty restaurant series: Too Cool Cafe, Indian Harbour Beach, FL
- 02/22/16 12:23 PM
Tucked away in a small, slightly obscure location on South Patrick Dr just north of Gleason Park is the Too Cool Cafe. Located on the edge of Satellite Beach and Indian Harbour Beach this funky little eatery appears to have formerly been a service station. There are several tables outside of the Too Cool Cafe should you feel like dining outside. When you walk inside of the Too Cool Cafe, you will see a chic, hip restaurant where the wait staff all are wearing fedoras and black t-shirts with suspenders. Well, now you know where the Too Cool comes from at the Too

palm realty restaurant series: Sergios Tacos Mexican Grill, Rockledge FL
- 02/16/16 09:36 AM
There is an unusual practice in Florida that does not exist in other areas of the country. Small, really good eateries are housed in gas stations. Such is the case with Sergios Tacos Mexican Grill. Tucked away in a Mobil gas station at 5470 Murrell Road in Rockledge on the northwest corner of Murrell Road and Viera Blvd is Sergios Tacos Mexican Grill. Being from Colorado, I used to spend a month every year in Mexico. When in Mexico, my favorite food was the delicious street food I found in carts. Much of the time that was tacos. So I can comfortably

palm realty restaurant series: Why is Amici's Beachside Gone and Brano's Opening?
- 09/03/15 08:51 AM
Amici's Beachside Bistro has by all appearances been a very successful venture. The Indian Harbour Beach venue always seemed to be busy. The outdoor deck is popular; it is large across the street from the beach and has it's own bar. Then suddenly, I drove by this past Monday and the sign was gone....what? I drove by again yesterday and there it was...a new sign for Brano's Italian Grill. You may remember my blog about Brano's Italian Grill in Cocoa Beach. As it turns out, Amici's Beachside was successful, but according to their Facebook page, the owners received an offer from Brano's

palm realty restaurant series: Toyo Sushi and Asian Grill in Suntree
- 08/11/15 02:01 AM
OK, I admit it, I absolutely love sushi. I love rolls, sashimi, unagi and even fresh, sweet uni. So, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner on Saturday night at Toyo Sushi and Asian Grill in Suntree. The word TOYO means "plentiful" in Japanese. I was introduced to Toyo Sushi and Asian Grill by three of my Buddhist friends that are Japanese and frequent this place often. Keiko and Joanie said the bento boxes that they ordered were wonderful. The tempura looked fabulous and Keiko assured me it was authentic. Marie and I sampled many of the different sushi items on the menu.

palm realty restaurant series: Beef O' Brady's - Casual Sports Bar
- 08/05/15 01:08 AM
Beef O' Brady's was started in 1985 by Jim Mellody in Brandon, Florida. Now a chain, Beef O' Brady's is even in Saudi Arabia! Here on the Space Coast there are 8 locations with 1 being Beachside. The theme at Beef O' Brady's is that of a sports bar. Menu items include wings (coming in 12 different flavors), pizza both standard style and on flat bread, build your own angus burgers, burritos, wraps, salads and more.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday there are some pretty solid specials.

palm realty restaurant series: Da Kine Diego's Insane Burrito
- 07/24/15 08:00 AM
Recently I tried the "Insane Burrito" from Da Kine Diego's Insane Burrito. Can you say burrito coma? You will have to learn if you plan on eating at this funky Beachside eatery. The burrito at Da Kine Diego's sort of reminds me of what Chiptotle burrito's originally were like before that chain got bought out by McDonalds. I seriously don't think that there are many people that could eat an entire Insane Burrito in one sitting. I certainly can't. The monsters coming out of Da Kine Diego's are massive! Although other food options are available on the menu, I would imagine that most
