215 Golf Club Drive - Bank Owned - Key West Golf Club - 10/31/11 03:03 PM
If you are looking for a large home on the Key West golf course for a modest price, you should definitely consider the newly listed Bank Owned property located in The Sanctuary at 215 Golf Club Drive. The listing agent describes this home like this: "Dont miss out on this rare opportunity to own a beautiful single family home with a pool in one of Key West's most sought after locations, the Sanctuary, in the Key West Golf Club for under $480k. Bank Owned. Excellent Condition." This house sold in May 2005 for $1,125,000, and it is now offered at just (2 comments)
215 Truman Avenue - Bank Owned - Key West There is a newly listedBank Owned Conch Cottage at 215 Truman Avenue that bargain buyers may want to consider. This place is cottage because it is on the small side - just 556 sq ft. It is a simple structure with one bedroom, a private bath, a large living and kitchen area that share the rest of the interior living space. The cathedral ceiling transforms the living and kitchen area into a comfortable and spacious place to live and entertain. The cottage has a good sized bedroom on the main floor (0 comments)
410 Simonton Street - Old Town - Key West The new listing at 410 Simonton Street is truly a Lady in Waiting-waiting for that special someone to come in and restore the house and grounds to the trophy property it should be once again. It's not that the property as it now exists is bad. It isn't. It just is not as good as it could be. In fact, it could be grand. The listing agent provides this bare bones description of 410 Simonton Street: "One of Key West's most beautiful houses. True history resounds in this one of a kind (3 comments)
I don't normally write about properties that I have sold. There are plenty of other agents in town who will tout how wonderful they are and how many properties they have sold. I'm mortal and have no delusions of being anything else.A satisfied buyer invited me over to see the new kitchen he had just installed in his Shipyard Condo and asked if I would share the photos with my readers. I am happy to oblige and they follow below. "Pelican's Perch" on Southard Street is being admired by passers-by My buyer purchased the unit called "Pelican's Perch" last year. (2 comments)
731 Waddell Avenue - Casa Marina Area - Key West - 10/25/11 11:19 AM
Just listed by Preferred Properties, that's where I work but this is not my listing, 731 Waddell Avenue in the Casa Marina Area of Key West. The listing Realtor describes this property this way: "Built in 2008 to resemble the grand Key West Conch homes, in the center of the Casa Marina is this spacious 5 Bedroom 5 Bathroom home. On the main level there is a bedroom and bath, currently being used as an office. As you walk into the massive living area, you are greeted by oversized French Hurricane impact doors that lead you to a large tropical backyard (2 comments)
Get Fit in Key West - No dorks Allowed - 10/24/11 09:54 AM
I often mention that the area near the intersection of Truman Avenue and White Street has a lot of gyms and yoga studios. Commercial spaces are less expensive in this area which is still relatively close to much of Old Town Key West. The gyms and yoga studios are within walking or biking distance so cars are not necessary. Other gyms are located further east in the suburbs of Key West. I decided to take some photos of the various spots where locals and visitors go to get fit, stay fit, avoid the sun, avoid the rain, avoid the Conch Train, (1 comments)
405 South Street was a Wedding Present in 1913 Judge JV Harris (father of the bride front right) Marion Harris (bride to be) left rear photographed in 1900 at the Southernmost House across the street 405 South Street as it appeared in 1965 I actually do receive emails from perspective buyers who often describe features they want in their Key West dream home. One of the most elusive features is having a water view. The new listing, not mine, at 405 South Street actually has water views in multiple locations. And it has wonderFUL ocean breezes to cool (3 comments)
517 Petronia Street - Both bedrooms open onto the walled front garden and deck Just listed, but not by me, 517 Petronia Street just steps from Duval Street in Old Town Key West. The listing broker describes this 1200 sq ft two bedroom two bath home this way: "Location is only the start for this charming Old Town home. Walled for privacy featuring 2 bedrooms and 2 baths with a generous pool and deck. Only a half block off Duval Street this private home is full of light with an open (4 comments)
31 Blue Water Drive - Near Key West - 10/20/11 11:08 AM
31 Blue Water Drive is located about Mile Marker 15 on Saddlebunch Key. CLICK HERE for a GOOGLE aerial view. It's a bit of a wreck right now. A new buyer will likely have trouble getting a mortgage as there is no existing kitchen, and that is normally a prerequisite to getting a mortgage. But it you have a saw and hammer and good design and building skills, this could be the little Florida Keys Dream Home you have been dreaming about. It is offered for sale at just $250,000.The listing Realtor describes this property like this: "Open water views from (2 comments)
627 Elizabeth Street - OldTown - Key West - 10/18/11 11:25 AM
The bright and cheery Cigar Maker Cottage at 627 Elizabeth Street sits near the tippy-top of Solares Hill, the highest spot on the Island of Key West. The home was meticulously renovated and received a Certificate of Excellence and a Silver Star for Renovation in 2010. It is as clean as a whistle and ready for new owners to bring their tooth brushes and flip flops. Not much else to do here but sit back and enjoy the good life in Old Town Key West. 627 Elizabeth Street is a genuine quintessential Key West Cottage I have written before about this (1 comments)
617 Fleming Street - Old Town - Key West 2010 617 Fleming Street - Old Town - Key West circa 1965 The Campbell Courtyard Condominiums have one of the best locations in Old Town. They are close enough to Duval Street and the Historic Key West Seaport that you can be in either place in five minutes or less. But they are far enough away that you do not hear the frenzy on Duval. Many of the neighboring properties are among the highest priced homes in Old Town. There are still some untouched houses that make Old Town so (2 comments)
205 Golf Club Drive - Key West The developer named that special section of the Key West golf course The Sanctuary for good reason: it is an enclave of primarily large homes with great views of the lush tropical golf course. Large iron gates separate The Sanctuary from the rest of the development. Once you pass the entrance you have views of the lakes to the left and links to the right. Then the big houses come into view. Large homes line Golf Club Drive as it loops around to return to the gated entrance. Homes on the inside are (2 comments)
616 Caroline Street - Key West - Wow! What an Opportunity! - 10/12/11 09:42 AM
616 Caroline Street - Key West Please excuse my exuberance, but I think the new listing at 616 Caroline Street, Unit #4, is quite the buying opportunity for that person that wants a Key West pied a tere that really deserves that moniker and is priced so affordably. The listing broker describes this property thus: "Grand home converted into designer condos. This unit is offered fully furnished and includes hardwood floors, marble countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, high ceilings, antique glass windows and a private balcony. Relax by the pool and spa surrounded by lush tropical gardens or stroll one (2 comments)
809 Virginia Street - Key West Some Key West properties just burst with energy and show off to the world. Others, like the the cottage home at 809 Virginia Street keep their charm and sweetness nice and private. The front of this cottage is screened from the passing world The listing Realtor describes 809 Virginia Street this way: "Completely renovated by an artist/designer, this classic Key West cigar maker's cottage has wonderful style. The living area opens to a very private pool surrounded by lush tropical foliage. French doors and windows fill the house with light from the front porch (3 comments)
419 United Street #2 - Key West - Short Sale If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive Key West getaway with its own private pool and a convenient location near the beaches and Old Town night life, you just might want to take a look at the condo at 419 United Street #2. The unit is one of four in the four unit building that was converted to condos in 2005. This unit is located on the ground floor at the rear. Access is from the rear just off the private pool. Access to Unit #2 This way (5 comments)
42 Kingfisher Lane - Key West Aerial perspective of 42 Kingfisher Lane at the Key West Golf Club I think the Bank Owned unit at 42 King Fisher Lane in the Key West Golf Club Community has got to be the best bargain out there at this time. I have enthusiastically showed this unit a few times. It has a good layout; it is in good condition; it has a very nice view overlooking the golf course; and it is priced to sell. The asking price is only $189,000. CLICK HERE to view the Key West mls datasheet and (2 comments)
3720 Northside Drive - Key West The new Short Sale listing at 3720 Northside Drive in Key West looks like a real bargain to me. Seriously. This is a good sized family home in a great family neighborhood. The listing Realtor describes the property this way: "Well built home located in one of the most desirable family neighborhoods available in Key West. This 3/3 has everything that you would want in a house. Convenient to shopping centers and schools makes this home a must see for the client who is raising a family or planning on starting one. This is (1 comments)
1125 Washington Street I've told you before about the joy of living in the Casa Marina Area. The streets are wide, the yards are big, the trees are tall, the houses are usually much larger than those in Old Town, the beach is only a couple of blocks away, and most important of all, it is normally a very quite and laid back neighborhood. Just as Old Town sells more quickly than other areas, Casa Marina sells more quickly than any area other than Old Town. And it offers proximity to the Atlantic Ocean that Old Town does not.
