home staging philadelphia: Boring Mirror on the Wall? MirrorMate Frames Will Fix Them All - 08/07/09 04:01 PM
As you may know I am a huge fan of MirrorMate Frames the amazing custom frame that can update a boring builder's grade mirror and give your bathroom a brand new look in just minutes. We recently staged the home of Kyle Korver, a professional basketball player for the Utah Jazz. When Kyle played for the 76'ers he purchased a home in the Philadelphia suburbs. When he made the move to Utah we were called in to help him prepare the home for sale. The home looked beautiful and had a lot of custom upgrades and finishes but the bathrooms needed some finishing

home staging philadelphia: The Home Sellers did all the work- Our Most Recent Statistics for Main Line Home Staging - 07/24/09 09:38 AM
I just got off the phone with an ecstatic Realtor- her most recent property was listed on Sunday, got an offer on Monday, accepted the offer on Tuesday and got a back up offer Tuesday evening. The reason she is so thrilled is not only because this home sold so quickly but because the last home we staged for her also sold in less than a week! This Realtor understands that in today's market staging a home is essential to getting a faster sale. She also knows that home staging does not have to be expensive. Often times all a client needs is a home

home staging philadelphia: If A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words then Home Staging is Worth Thousands More For Your Home - 07/17/09 06:58 PM
Still not convinced staging can help you to properly prepare your home for sale? Take a look at the pictures below of a home staging we did in Gladwyne Pennsylvania this week. If this does not convince you to stage your home I do not know what will! Staging can transform even the most "lived" in home into a showplace that appeals to the most potential buyers. Take this bachelor pad for example and consider what we are selling- how someone lives in their home or how buyers want to envision living in a home. Just looking at these pics makes me

home staging philadelphia: Can You Make Accessories Only Staging Work? - 06/17/09 03:42 PM
As home staging professionals it is our job to help clients best market and present their homes for sale. Often times we are required to work within our client's budget constraints and our vision of how to best furnish and accessorize a space may not be feasible. In the past, I have hesitated to offer "accessories only" packages because adding furniture and area rugs not only allows buyers to envision how they can live in a space but also properly shows the size and scale of each room. In this current economy however I am finding that more and more clients cannot afford to

home staging philadelphia: A Home Staging Compromise in Wynnewood Pennsylvania - 06/17/09 10:03 AM
We recently had the pleasure of helping Sposato Builders with one of their most recent Main Line home renovations. This was an especially rewarding experience because the client chose not only to stage a few key rooms but also to finish the lower level of this home per our recommendation. As a home staging professional it is our duty to make sure that we are giving our client all the right information about what they need to do to best market and present their property for sale. In this case, completing the basement meant staging less areas in the home, however this

home staging philadelphia: Window Treatments to Try...Before you Buy - 01/15/09 02:53 PM
I have a confession! It is a secret that I have been hiding from my husband for the past 9 years. Here it is: I hated the custom window treatments in our first home. I hated them from day one. I hated them even more when I re-hemmed them at 3 in the morning the night before our dinner party. I hated that they never pleated right. I still hated them the day we moved out five years later. I made a gigantic mistake when I picked them out-and since they cost a small fortune, I brought them to our new home. Now they're in the basement.

home staging philadelphia: Artwork ... Jewelry for Your Walls - 01/15/09 02:32 PM
When I'm brought in to give advice for a house that's going on the market, or for a family doing some decorating, I often get the feeling that something is missing in the room. At first look, everything seems in place. The color palate is tranquil and on trend, the seating arrangement works well with the size and shape of the room -but something just doesn't feel right. Lack of artwork is typically the culprit. People seem to have a problem adding artwork to their walls. Is it because they're afraid it can't be removed once it's hung on the wall? Maybe they think it

home staging philadelphia: Home Staging Transforms Contemporary Home in Villanova Pennsylvania - 10/28/08 04:34 PM
One of my favorite things about being a home staging professional is the dramatic transformation that occurs when a home is staged. Our team recently had the pleasure of getting a large contemporary home in Villanova Pennsylvania ready to sell. It is a spacious home with 8 bedrooms including an inlaw suite, a full finished basement and many rooms for entertaining. We started this project by providing the owner with a consulation for some minor updates that needed to be made and then added the final touches by staging a few key rooms to show buyers how they could enjoy this

home staging philadelphia: Home Staging Using What You Got Can Make a Dramatic Difference - 10/20/08 07:48 AM
Many clients think that home staging is an expensive investment. They imagine truckloads of furniture and accessories being brought into their home and even more truckloads of their personal items being removed before their home can be shown. The truth is that for most furnished homes, home staging is not about what is added to your home. It is about how you can enhance your home's selling features and showcase the space your home offers by removing personal items and rearranging some furniture items to create more flow with in the home. Last week our team helped a client near Philadelphia in Gladwyne

home staging philadelphia: What a difference a day makes! Home Staging transforms this home in Montgomery County Pennsylvania - 09/18/08 06:41 PM
I am exhausted! Yesterday our team had the task of completely transforming a grand estate in Montgomery County Pennsylvania. Since the home will not be on the market for another 2 weeks I will not post exterior shots but I promise to share some of the AMAZING architecture this home has to offer at a later date. I think this is a great project to share because it really shows home sellers how home staging can give a property a new look using only what the client already has. I originally met with this home seller who is a real estate

home staging philadelphia: IT ALREADY SOLD! Home Staging Transforms this Twin in Wayne Pennsylvania - 09/17/08 02:35 AM
After almost 5 years in the home staging business sometimes even I am amazed at what a difference a little staging can make. I visited this vacant home in Wayne 2 weeks ago- a Realtor that I work with wanted me to take a peek at her listing and come up with a plan on how to make it more appealing to younger first time home buyers. I have to say the results were awesome! What was once a vacant twin with rooms that had no defined purpose is now a charming retreat that buyers can imagine calling home. This is one

If you are getting your home ready to sell then you need to take note of what my latest client in Havertown Pennsylvania did to prepare her home for sale. Three months ago I received a phone call from her- she knew that she was going to put her home on the market in the Fall and that in order to sell in today's market that it needed to look its best. Two weeks ago I met her at her home and she had already gotten to work. The painters were repainting the interior to give it a fresh look, the

home staging philadelphia: Making Models Work: Who is your target buyer? - 05/16/08 05:23 PM
Below are photos of a model condo unit we staged for a builder in Lower Merion Pennsylvania, a suburb outside of Philadelphia. This is actually the 5th time we have staged this model! Each time we stage the model unit it sells, and the builder asks us to move it to a new location in the complex. Buyers love the staged unit and since that is the unit they want, we have to move it. The unit we are staging is the same as all the other units. So why do buyers insist on that particular unit and not another? Buyers

home staging philadelphia: Rooms that make you go Hmmm??? - 05/16/08 04:36 PM
As a home staging professional I hear clients ask time and time again "Why do I need to stage my vacant home? Can't buyers just imagine how it will look with their furniture?" As always I answer, "No. Buyers need to see furniture in a space so they can mentally begin to move in. Staging gives rooms a better sense of proportion and shows buyers the best use of each space." Below are some before and after pictures of a home we recently staged in Montgomery Country Pennsylvania. The home is a sleek contemporary space with gorgeous finishes and lots of
