activerain: WooHoo I made the first 100,000 - 11/15/10 10:33 PM
Today November 15th (should have been yesterday my mother & sister's birthday) I broke 100,000 mark.
It's hard to remember my first post - but I do remember I was nervous as heck hitting the submit button.
It wasn't until months later that I found out you could do a post in the draft mode.
Well it's the beginning of a journey. I've learned a lot and look forward to learning and sharing even more.

This was the post I commented on today that tipped the scale....

activerain: ActiveRain in the Nation's Capital - 05/14/10 06:15 PM
This week I met up with ActiveRain in the Nation's Capital. WooHoo! I'm in Washington DC for the National Association of Realtors and Women's Council of Realtors MidYear meetings. Wow is all I can saw with all  the great information, tips, education and ideas for our business. At the Trade Expo I wound my way around hundreds of booths looking for that special booth. I found Douglas with a table full of "Let it Rain" shirts recruiting bloggers for ActiveRain. In fact I brought him two new bloggers who signed up for Rainmaker accounts. It was fun to watch him telling … (5 comments)

activerain: SHIFT Tactic #4 - Find the Motivated Lead Generation - 12/24/09 07:37 AM
In the book SHIFT by Gary Keller Tactic #4 ... Find the Motivated Lead Generation

Gary says...

"You can “motive-aid” someone to help them better understand why they should consider buying or selling in this market, but you can’t motivate them. Their motives are their own. Their rationales or reasons are theirs and theirs alone. And since you can’t actually motivate people, your only choice will be to find more of them. So this is why you must now ramp up your lead generation, because there are less of the motivated to … (3 comments)

activerain: SHIFT - Get Real Get Right - 12/22/09 09:09 AM
In the book SHIFT by Gary Keller Tactic #1 ... Get Real Get Right

Gary says...

"When a shift occurs confusion follows. Not only in the marketplace but also in the mind and body. What to think and what to do becomes fuzzy because what once worked is no longer working and you may not know why."
"When a market shifts there is only one thing to do-shift with it. In truth there are two shifts you must make. A mental shift and an action shift."

I don't know about you but that … (1 comments)

activerain: SHIFT - do more with less - 12/18/09 02:11 PM
In the book SHIFT Gary Keller's tactic #3 is ... Do More with Less - work harder, longer, be more efficient all while spending less money.
Where do you spend your time? Is it really how well you do a task or how important the task is to your business?

Gary tells us in SHIFT to ask 4 questions:

What are my business priorities? When do they need to get done? Who is the best person to do them? How should they be done? Once you've analyzed your tasks and time using those questions Gary then engages us with … (2 comments)

activerain: ActiveRain and Market Leader my highlight of the NAR convention in San Diego - 11/16/09 08:51 PM
I'm home and unpacking from the NAR Convetion in San Diego and I just have to share my highlight of the convention.
Saturday Amy Hahn and I had the distinct pleasure of visiting booth number 2425 at the NAR Expo where we met up in person with Brad Andersohn of ActiveRain and John Lockhart and Mica Schonbeck of Market Leader. First I want to say thank you Market Leader for allowing ActiveRain to host the AR Lounge in your booth area. We truly appreciated having such a great meeting place.

activerain: A How to Video: Organize your past ActiveRain posts for Inter-Linking and improve your Google Juice - 11/04/09 04:37 AM
A How to Video: Organize your past ActiveRain posts for Inter-Linking and improve your Google Juice I have been writing posts for less than a year and I've accumulated over 125 posts. Recently I've been wanting to link to some of my previous posts within the current post I am writing. I didn't have an easy way to quickly find the hyperlink or the exact topic I wanted. As I blogged more and more about communities and subdivisions finding the past posts got more difficult, confusing, and time consuming. I love a challenge. I began a mission to simplify finding, sorting … (14 comments)

activerain: How I'm enhancing Client Relationships using my ActiveRain blog and iContact - 10/30/09 08:11 AM
How I'm enhancing Client Relationships using my ActiveRain blog and iContact
How I'm using my ActiveRain blog to enhance my existing relationships with clients and prospects! Bob Stewart proposed this question. So... How am I using my library of content? The answer is I haven't been getting as much out of it as I could. If I could come up with an idea what would it be? In the last two months I've taken two core course for the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation and I am in the midst of implementing some of the key strategies I've learned in those … (8 comments)

activerain: ActiveRain Associate vs Subscribe to Blog - 10/28/09 11:58 AM
I am trying to understand the difference between an ActiveRain Associate vs Subscribe to Blog. I've read about members having 150 subscribers up to and over 1000 subscribers. I've subscribed to other people's blog because I liked what they wrote about, or their style, or their humor, the helpful tips or something. I even have a some subscribers. But what does a subscription do for you? Once I subscribed I was expecting to get an email when the "subscribee" submitted a post. That didn't happen. I didn't get email notifications... so Why? I'm not sure if:
I've been "black balled" (probably … (12 comments)

activerain: YouTube - Rain sound so cool and so appropriate for ActiveRain - gotta watch. - 10/18/09 12:52 PM

YouTube - Rain sound so cool and so appropriate for ActiveRain - gotta watch.Yesterday I was editing a movie clip of Bonnie & me for an ActiveRain post and I thought it would be fun to have an intro with some music. What music would I pick? Rain of-course! Here's my clip: Now here is the YouTube clip that I found while searching for music. I think it is amazing and cool -- and definitely appropriate for ActiveRain. It is a group making rain sounds by clapping, slapping, clicking and jumping in sequence & unison. I'll be surprised if you … (9 comments)

activerain: If you build it (blog it) they will come - Before ActiveRain and Now - 10/17/09 06:13 PM
If you build it blog it they will come - Before ActiveRain and Now I read Sally's post about blogging about life before an after ActiveRain and I thought it would be fun to enter the contest. Then I started reading some of the amazing stories that others were submitting and I started to second guess myself. I am not an ambassador. I'm not a top producer. I don't have hundreds of thousands of points. I've never had a featured post. I am still learning how to get around and how things work. I haven't even been on ActiveRain for a … (9 comments)

activerain: Video - How do I add a hyperlink in my ActiveRain blog comments? - 10/09/09 07:09 AM
Video - How do I add a hyperlink in my ActiveRain blog comments? I was wondering the other day about adding hyperlinks in my ActiveRain comment section. It is not something that I do regularly, but I have been seeing it more and more. So I thought I would play. It didn't take long to learn. In fact it is quite easy. I can tell you but then.... (that's an old joke). Well as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words so I decided to do a quick video instead. Here is the cliff notes version of the video:

activerain: What the HECK?*&%!! ActiveRain is going crazy. - 10/09/09 03:39 AM
What the HECK?*&%!! ActiveRain is going crazy.

Ok I should be asleep at 350am eastern time, but I'm not. I woke up and rather than toss & turn I thought I would check in on ActiveRain and emails and catch up on a few things during this uninterrupted quiet time.
I ran the send & receive in outlook to find new ActiveRain comment emails pouring in that were referring to old posts. HUH! That's unusual.

I signed in and went to my home page and found about a half dozen messages about comments I made October 9th. HUH! … (14 comments)
