Are You a Country Mouse? - 11/22/10 03:21 PM
Do you remember Aesop's fable about the country mouse and the city mouse? The city mouse visited the country mouse and was not very kind to him. He told him how much better it was in the city. So, the country mouse visited the city. While he was there he encountered people, cats and traps. He finally decided that the peace and quiet of the country suited him best after all. Can you relate to the country mouse? Would you prefer to live in a rural Oklahoma setting with less traffic, people and noise? If living in the Oklahoma countryside suits you best,

An Empty Nest? Don't Fret! - 11/19/10 10:13 AM
We moved into our current home in Edmond as my youngest daughter entered kindergarten. It's location was perfect for our family with a park just down the street and a bus stop at the end of the driveway. It has been a haven for our family through sickness and health. While here, we have hosted birthday parties, frantically prepared for dance recitals, packed kiddos for overnight camps, and built volcanoes for the science fair. Sound familiar? We have been truly blessed. But now we are hosting graduation parties, preparing for proms and packing our oldest for college. Where did the time go? How do we

Is There a Haunted Circus in Edmond Oklahoma? - 11/12/10 10:08 AM
Edmond, OK I first heard about the "Haunted Circus" about a year ago. My daughter was heading out there with a group of friends. They claimed there were empty cages, trailers and more. Honestly, at the time I didn't really think it existed. I thought it was probably a teenage legend of sorts. After all, if there was an abandoned circus in Edmond, I would have heard about it before them! I figured they would have a great adventure and forgot all about it.Until this week that is when the topic came up again, twice! The first time was at lunch with

New Homes, 2000 Square Feet, 4 Bedrooms, in Edmond - 11/08/10 10:29 AM
Edmond, OK Yesterday, I hosted an Open House in Edmond's Thomas Trails. I was happy to have the opportunity to meet several home buyers as they began their search for a new home. Unfortunately, for many Thomas Trails just did not meet their needs. The homes in Thomas Trails were three bedroom homes with about 1875 square feet. The folks I met were looking for at least 2000 square feet and four bedrooms. They would prefer to have new construction, in Edmond or Deer Creek with a budget that should not exceed $250,000.There are several neighborhoods in Edmond and Deer Creek

Is Your Furnace Ready for Winter? Mine Isn't Either! - 11/03/10 10:42 AM
Good grief it was so very cold in Edmond, Oklahoma this morning! To make matters worse, I had left a couple windows open over night! So, it was absolutely freezing in my house. Try getting teenagers out of bed for school when it's that cold, not an easy task!Since it was so cold (and the girls were complaining!) I immediately went to the thermostat to fire up the heat. Then I remembered that we haven't prepared the furnace or lit the pilot light for the season yet. Ugh, as a Realtor I know better! I hear home inspectors explain this simple maintenance tip to
