Great Ideas to Save and Make Money During these tough times!

-- Sign up with local market research companies in your area. They pay you for your opinion. No sales ever. They are fun too. Search on-line or check your phone book for market research companies in your area.

-- Have you been to a dollar store latley? I have and could not beleive some of the great items you can buy for only a dollar. Lots of household items that I usually pay a few dollars + for at the local grocery store.

-- Check for coupons on-line prior to going to the grocery store. Lots of great coupon based sites where you can print right from home. Or search for coupon codes prior to ordering anything from a web site. I am a big fan of google.

-- One word =HAGGLE. Shop around, negoitate, bargain shop, take your time. I know it may put some people out of their comfort zone but its worth it. Be honest and tell people you are on a budget. I am sure places would rather take a discount then not get your business at all. Now is the time to get things at great deals. Be nice and sincere and you may be happy with the results.

-- Check with your credit card companies for better interest rates. Call your cable, phone, internet, cell phone provider, etc.. and see if they have better pricing or specials in your area. I recently made a few calls and was able to save some money on my phone and cable bill.

-- Apply for fun and different part time jobs for extra $$$. Do something out of your area of expertise. Craigslist.org has lots of exciting jobs listed under "gigs"

-- We have been making a batch of whole wheat pasta at the begining of each week and we make several lunches out of it. One day we will do chicken with Italian dressing and veggies, next day a greek pasta salad, etc.. we are able to make lots of different lunches and saves $$$. My husband is in his car most of the day so it saves us if we pack his lunch instead of him eating out every day.

-- Get your beauty services done at a local beauty school. They charge a lot less and the students are supervised.

-- Want to have a night out? Choose where you go based on what coupons you have for different restaurants, comedy clubs, etc... We will not go out for dinner without a coupon these days.

-- Have a favorite store or restaurant? Make sure to go on their web site and sign up on their email list as a lot of places send you promotional coupon offers.

I am not an expert by any means but thought I would blog about a few things I do during these tough times. Hope this helps.

Any time I find a good deal, I want to tell everyone. This is my very first blog. Yeah!!!! It has been up to this point that I actually found something I wanted to write about.

The past few days I have been out with clients trying to find a nice, clean 2bdrm condo for their daughter that attends Arizona State University. Another requirement was that they did not want to spend over $200k. And they did not have much of an interest in buy a condo conversion. After several hours, we could not find any property that was move-in ready for a good price.

I came across a property that was just listed on the MLS but it was a condo conversion. My clients were leery but we went over to the sales office to check it out anyway. WOW- were we impressed. Awesome upgrades, very clean, unbeatable incentives. They offer 2 and 3 bdrms units and you can buy these units fully upgraded and walk out for under $200k AND they are paying 1 year of HOA AND offering a free flat screen tv. The walls inside the condos are made of concrete so it is very quiet. The condos were built in 71 but you would have no idea since it had such a new feeling. Upgrades include- granite counters. new appliances. nice tile flooring, upgraded carpet, all in one washer dryer, new AC, large extended patios and much more. Community offers a volleyball court, 2 pools, dog run, grassy areas and BBQs. They just opened 3 days ago so they have great grand opening prices. The location is within 3-4 miles from ASU. My clients bought without any hesitation-- As it turns out, Condo conversions should not always have such a bad reputation. LOL
