     I recently had the pleasure of spending the afternoon at Santo Thomas, a beautiful, quiet development, about an hour south of Puerto Penasco.  The homes were gorgeous and very well priced.  The beach was spotless clean, except for some great seashells.  But the highlight was watching the dolphins at play for most of the afternoon.

     The limit for US visitors returning to the US after a vacation in Mexico is a fairly generous $800 per month!  This can include a liter of alcohol.  Not only that, but Mexican arts and crafts, including furniture are duty free!  So come on down and shop, shop, shop!

     Back in the US, from time to time, I would hear people complain about immigrants speaking their own non-english native tongue.  Popular opinion suggests that newcomers should learn and speak English as quickly as possible.  They should do this, in order that they might function more effectively and not be a burden on society.  Also it is regarded somewhat as a sign of respect for their new country.  Incidentally, demonstrated competence in English is part of the requirement to become a US citizen.

     Well this weekend we had a horse show, an art show and a taste of Penasco event.  I've got to say, I love living in a small town.  I suppose big cities have multiple events on any given weekend, but probably not so many where you'd know people at every event.  Nor would such a percentage of events be not for profit.
