St Mary's breaks ground next week at Lake Oconee - 08/16/12 11:58 AM
St Marys Good Samaritan Hospital will hold the groundbreaking ceremony for it's replacement facility at 10:00 am Thursday August 16 at 1501 Lake Oconee Pkway. The ceremony will be held at the 24 acre site on State Route between Carey Station rd and West Lake rd. Rep. Mickey Channell will make the key address. The 25 bed replacement hospital is expected to cost approx $40 million. Preliminary site preparations begin the week of June 25th, 2012. Real Estate is buzzing at Lake Oconee and things are looking up for the resort community that is already one of the best resorts in the nation.
Metlife on last week annouced it completed its purchase of Reynolds Plantation that was in recievership in 2011-12. The New York-based financial conglomerate announced in May it was purchasing the six golf course,four marinas and nearly 5,000 acres of undeveloped land tied Reynolds Plantation, about 80 miles of east of Atlanta, The Ritz Carlton Lodge also was included in the deal.
