Only in St Croix..... - 06/30/10 11:55 AM

It was a busy afternoon.  It was hot and humid.  I was running errands, and perhaps a bit more frustrated than someone who lives in paradise ought to be.  It happens, OK? 
Anyway, just when I was reaching boiling point over the terribly slow moving traffic (yes, a veritable traffic jam in good ol STX), I saw what the problem was.  Immediately my mood lifted, and I began to laugh.  There were about 5 horses in the road, meandering up to the lovely Innovative telephone building (where I was heading) to drink out of the fountain.  HA!

Just another amazing experience in St Croix - 06/19/10 02:00 PM
I've lived here five years and have heard about the leatherback turtles coming here to nest, but really didn't get too excited about it. Then, Friday night, I attended a turtle watching at Sandy Point Wildlife Refuge, which is just down the beach from my condo, and my whole world changed!
It was absolutely AMAZING to see these enormous creatures (5 - 6 feet long, 400 - 500 pounds) lumber out of the sea, go into their ritual of body pitting, digging, laying 60 - 100 eggs, covering the nest, then disguising the nest before retreating back to the sea. This whole … (3 comments)

St Croix is Waiting for You - 06/08/10 05:36 PM
Finally the weather in St Croix is getting back to "normal." It has been unseasonably hot, humid and hazy for the past few weeks - YUK!  But today the haze is gone and the breezes are back - and my spirits are lifted!
We're getting in to "slow time" here in St Croix from a real estate perspective.  Not as many folks on island.  That makes it a PERFECT time to come down and check out the fantastic homes available.  Summer months are ideal to pick out a vacation home, land, or future retirement spot!
