I recently received this nice note from buyers I helped purchased real estate on ST Croix:"I wanted to let you know how happy we are with our condo purchase in St Croix. "At first we were a little nervous about buying a condo so far away but the closing process was much easier than we thought. After transferring the funds, we only had to sign a few papers and the condo was ours! " Even though we decided to come for the closing, it was nice to know we didn't have to be there if we couldn't make it. Everyone you recommended during the (3 comments)
Hovensa Woes on St Croix - 12/21/10 03:01 PM
Hovensa has always been a great community supporter and is the second largest employer on the island of St Croix (goverment being largest employer). Lately, there have been some problems at the plant that have caused some issues here. The latest oil release incident sent over 30 students to the hospital, although no one was seriously injured. Hovensa has established water-distribution sites for homes whose roofs (and hence cisterns) may have been affected by the oil spray. The refinery has also sent teams to take cistern water samples for testing and to clean roofs, downspouts and cisterns. Nevertheless, the U.S. Environmental (0 comments)
New DVD of St Croix Historic Buildings Now Available - 12/21/10 02:54 PM
St. Croix's Christiansted and Frederiksted have rarely looked better than they do in a DVD produced by Crucian Heritage and Nature Tours (CHANT), which recently premiered at the Caribbean Museum Art Center.CHANT began a program to train guides for walking heritage tours more than two years ago, and the video project was something that was always planned to accompany it. As the tour guides went through training sessions led by local historian Wayne James, so did filmmaker Cathy Mae Sitaram of Sitaram Film Group. The video, "The Heritage and Architecture of St. Croix: A CHANT Walking Tour," opens with James in Christiansted's (2 comments)

Carambola Beach Resort and Spa, thanks in no small measure to a $15 million loan from the V.I. Government Employees' Retirement System (GERS). is now a Marriott Renaissance property. Carambola has been trying to woo Marriott Renaissance and become part of its worldwide brand for a number of years. But the resort has struggled to make ends meet while also making major improvements to meet Marriott requirements.Since the devastation of Hurricane Hugo, Carambola's future has been uncertain.
