I guess it's better to know up front - that Paradise is not free....
One little surprise that many people get when they move down here without doing enough research or asking the right questions is the exorbitant price of power here in the USVI!!  I think on average we're at about $.5 a killowatt - I think in the states it's about $.1!!!  So to make that "real" - for a 2000 sq ft house using NO AC - our power bill is between $250 - $350 a month.  If we use AC (we have it but ONLY use it … (1 comments)

I have a friend who is an avid biker and she tells me there are two good bike mechanics on the island and a great group of riders on St Croix.  When they get a little rock fever, they all head to the states for a couple of long rides at least once or twice a year in Spring and Summer.  2009 it was Minnesota-South Dakota, Wyoming, Wisconsin.  2010 was Colorado and this year it is looking like everyone is heading to Canada for a 10 day ride.  They have a planned ride every Saturday and Sunday and have their own … (0 comments)
