Glitz and Glamour Island....
If you're looking for this island, with lots of night life, fancy shopping, elegant restaurants where you have to get dressed up, then don't come to St Croix! You won't find that here!
This is a casual, laid back place. We have great restaurants, lots of wonderful live music, and even community theatre, but it's not "fancy" or glamorous or glitzy. I personally REALLY like that about this island....that's what I was looking for! But it's not for everyone....

Sunday was a fun day on St Croix! The annual Chili Cook-off was held at the Divi Carina Bay Resort. The day was perfect weather-wise, the chili was hot and spicy, the beer was cold, the purveyors were really creative (see some of the great booths below) and the music was upbeat and danceable!! Fun times on the island!!

I guess it's better to know up front - that Paradise is not free....
One little surprise that many people get when they move down here without doing enough research or asking the right questions is the exorbitant price of power here in the USVI!! I think on average we're at about $.5 a killowatt - I think in the states it's about $.1!!! So to make that "real" - for a 2000 sq ft house using NO AC - our power bill is between $250 - $350 a month. If we use AC (we have it but ONLY use it … (1 comments)
