E-Waste Recycling Event - Recycle your E-Waste for Free!

 Planet Green, in partnership with Chatsworth High School and Electronic Recycling Solutions is providing a free two-day E-Waste collection for the San Fernando Valley community on Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th from 9am to 2pm. All proceeds from the collection will go to Chatsworth High School. This is the fourth E-Waste event for Planet Green, a local remanufacturer and recycler of printer cartridges and cell phones.

Located at 20724 Lassen St., Planet Green will use its parking lot as a drop-off site for any unwanted electronic waste. Student volunteers from Chatsworth High School will help with drop-offs as part of their effort to raise money for the school. All the items will go through a proper dismantling and disposal process before they are recycled into new products or materials. All private information will be destroyed using a state-of-the-art wiping process. Any California resident is invited to drop off their items between 9am and 2pm. Participants who choose to make use of the collection effort are invited to stay in their car while Planet Green and ERS employees unload the designated equipment for them.

FUN FAST DEEP DISH PIZZA

Ingredients   serves up to 8

2 28-ounce cans plum tomatoes, drained

2 large garlic cloves, pressed

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano, crumbled 1 teaspoon dried basil, crumbled

3 teaspoons olive oil

Cornmeal

1 pound (1 loaf) frozen bread dough, thawed

1 pound shredded mozzarella (about 4 cups)

7 ounces thinly sliced pepperoni

1/2 cup grated Parmesan

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425°F. Coarsely chop tomatoes. Place in strainer and drain well. Combine tomatoes with garlic, parsley, oregano and basil in bowl. Brush 12-inch-diameter deep-dish pizza pan with 1 teaspoon oil. Sprinkle pan with cornmeal. Roll bread dough out to 13-inch round on lightly floured surface. Transfer dough to pan, extending 1 inch up pan sides. Spread dough with 1 cup tomato mixture. Sprinkle half of mozzarella over. Top with half of pepperoni and remaining tomato mixture. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella. Distribute remaining pepperoni atop mozzarella. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Drizzle with remaining 2 teaspoons olive oil. Bake until cheese bubbles and begins to brown and crust is golden brown, about 40 minutes.
