I had the lucky pleasure of attending Real Estate Bar Camp in Fredericksburg, VA this week. It's not only because I liked spending 4 hours there and 4 hours back with John Lauber in the car.... but I respect so many of the people at the Virginia Association of Realtors (Ben! Jovan! ) and Real Estate friends that work in the general area (I know better than to start shout outs here - hugs y'all).

meetups: Meetup at VAR08 in Baltimore - 09/28/08 09:12 AM
Yep. I'm bragging again. I got to another meetup!!! Yay! The Virginia Association of Realtors had their annual conference in Baltimore this year - which was too close to pass up. They were very welcoming to this Chester County PA Realtor!
As Teresa says, "It's great to meet the people who live in my computer." It's actually fun, because not only have I met people for the first time, putting @s to real people (Jeremy, Candy, Sarah, Drew, Matt, Natalie, Tony, Matt & Jennifer, Danilo), but seeing people again that I have met before! REBlogWorld is here!! I know there are many people out there ready and excited to hop in the plane, train, or automobile and head to the great city of Las Vegas!!!
I will miss being there, with many of my friends.... and so many I want to meet.......
Y'all have lots of fun..... make sure you learn a little and network a lot :) With the agenda that is planned - I have event envy of the speakers/topics too ! Keep in touch - twitter, flickr, etc... I'll be joining you in thoughts!

Connecting with people and building relationships is one of the keys to a successful Real Estate business. I don't meet people and attend events hoping to meet someone that is looking to buy a house in the next 30 days. I think if the motive was greedy, you'd get a slap in the face.
I use Social Media to connect with people. Building off of a common phrase used at Inman, while in San Francisco, Rudy from Trulia and I would say, "It's all about building relationships" when we'd see each other - as a joke - but both knew it … (9 comments)

Yes, that's right, it's time for me to brag about another meetup I've had!! (You can read Social Media Friends and Meetups for other highlights).
My husband's family all lives in Battle Creek, Michigan and unfortunately we hadn't been there in a couple of years - and not since I have gotten to know Missy Caulk & Christa Caulk :)
