missy caulk: Kim joined Agent Genius - 10/18/08 10:50 PM

"I would really love to be able to write with Agent Genius," I told my friend Missy of Ann Arbor, MI on her back deck in September. "Kim! I would too," Missy answered.

(You remember who Missy is right? The Caulk Wood | Bonding for Success team with Makeover2Takeover on AR ?? That was us !!)
Just a few weeks after that conversation I received a SKYPE message asking if I would like to join the ranks of Geniusness and be a writer at Agent Genius, a national community of Real Estate Industry leaders. I was honored to … (11 comments)

missy caulk: Take a Step - ASK ! - 09/12/08 09:26 PM

Sometimes its scary to ask someone a question when you know the answer might be no. What if you are rejected? What if they tear you apart for even asking the question?
It's called the Fear of  Failure and I've had it. Still do, actually. But I've found the best way to conquer it - is JUST TO DO IT.  Take the plunge and ask. It's worse not to ever ask then to get a "no".  Trust me on that.

missy caulk: Caulk Wood | Continues their Bonding - 09/12/08 03:25 PM
Thank you ActiveRain.... for introducing Missy & I .....

Yes, that's right, it's time for me to brag about another meetup I've had!!  (You can read Social Media Friends and Meetups for other highlights).
My husband's family all lives in Battle Creek, Michigan and unfortunately we hadn't been there in a couple of years - and not since I have gotten to know Missy Caulk & Christa Caulk :)
If you've been on ActiveRain for a little while, I'm sure you know Missy - and her passion for Ann Arbor Real Estate. Guess how lucky I am? Ann Arbor is … (8 comments)

missy caulk: Mentors! Mentors! Who wants a Mentor? - 06/26/08 09:48 AM
Mentor - a person such as a peer or instructor a writer seeks out for supportand modeling during any phase of the writing process. This is how the University of Nebraska's Writing Department defines a mentor.
Q: Where do you find a Mentor for Blogging ?
A: Here! On ActiveRain! Currently, I'm involved in the Makeover2Takeover ActiveRain contest, so I have a real mentor who talks to me via phone, email, SKYPE, twitter, and North Carolina Girls Getaway trips :) Lucky me! (Sorry, was I bragging?)
Missy has been a wonderful mentor to me. Sharing with me her business practices along the … (4 comments)

My Turn!My Turn!
It all started with ActiveRain.... NC Girls Getaway.... I tend to get mushy with these things - I'll do my best not to :)
Last week was a highlight of one of the best times in my life lately. Over the past year, I've been a member of ActiveRain, forming friendship and bonds that I know will last a lifetime. Twitter helped us bond even closer, and one step further, SKYPE allowed for some late night ::Clinks:: .

Part Two: The Value of an Agent Database[paraphrased from our Contest Submission]
Missy said, "Having a Database is running your business like a business instead of a one time transaction."  << Isn't that priceless! It sums it all up very nicely.
I used to keep about 6 Excel spreadsheets which were supposed to be my database (some of it). I would start new ones all the time because I'd get frustrated with the ones I had, it … (10 comments)
