We have less than two weeks now until the beginning of the next fundamentals of home inspection training class at Bellingham Technical College. Monday, May 3, is the day.

This is a four week course and the first three weeks are comprised of 120 hours of fundamentals training and instruction while the last week consists of 40 hours of field training.The student who passes the course, both sections, will be approved to sit for the state home inspector licensing exams. This is another post in a series on home inspection training as is provided by Bellingham Technical College. Bellingham Technical College is now one of the leading technical colleges in the state. Therefore, many students who are in class for various programs -- nursing to commercial truck driving to home inspection -- come to the school from out of town. We see students from the Seattle area and from eastern Washington.

Regardless of which program students are taking, from commercial truck driving to nursing to home inspection, it is helpful if they know how to find their way around the campus. BTC is one of the largest of the state technical colleges in the state, therefore, the campus consists of many nooks, crannies and buildings.

This week those of us who teach in the program have another of the approved fundamentals of home inspection classes coming to an end at Bellingham Technical College. Today completes this classes fourth week.
At this writing, this is the only approved course in the state that is available to the public without a prospective inspector having to first purchase a franchise. This course is open and available to the public. We have people from all areas of the state coming to town to take the class.
