The homebuyer tax credit deadlines are looming.  If you are looking to purchase a Kingwood home, there is still time to take advantage of the $8000 First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit or the $6500 Homebuyer Tax Credit for current homeowners.  However, time is quickly running out.  You must have a home under contract by the end of day on April 30, 2010.  That only gives you 23 days to find that perfect Kingwood real estate property and get it under contract.

8000 tax credit: Tax Credit for New and Existing Homeowners - 11/10/09 05:30 AM
The First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit has been extended to both new and existing homeowners as of November 6, 2009.  President Obama approved an extension of the $8000 tax credit for first-time home buyers through April 30, 2010.  And, if you have a signed binding sales contract by the April 30, 2010 deadline, you have until July 1, 2010 for escrow to close in order to still be eligible for the tax credit.  Previously, the tax credit was set to expire at the end of this month.  A first-time home buyer is defined as someone who has not owned a home in the last three years.
