historicalwilmington: Wilmington NC - Unique Properties - Historical Townhouse on the Riverfront - 12/02/10 03:23 AM

I recently sold a condo in this historical building down on the riverfront in Wilmington NC. It was a renovated old warehouse that would hold off loaded goods from ships that came to Wilmington in the 1900's. It was renovated and updated into townhouses in the 80's by a local developer. It has the most spectacular waterview of the Cape Fear River. You have great views of the Battleship North Carolina and of the river boats that go up and down the Cape Fear. Each unit has an outdoor porch overlooking the river. You would have front row seat … (3 comments)

historicalwilmington: Sailing Ship to be Docked in Wilmington, NC until April 10, 2009 - 04/03/09 06:36 AM
This huge sailing ship is docked at the foot of Market Street on the Cape Fear River. It has been docked here for over a month. It was hand made 20 years ago and is a sight to see. With its huge masts and very thick mahogony rails it is amazing to see such handiwork. If you are in town during the Azalea Festival this weekend it is a worth a look. You can walk the gangplank and enter the ship and take a tour. See the old fashioned bed on the aft end and see the incredible mast system on … (1 comments)

historicalwilmington: USS NORTH CAROLINA HOSTS "GHOST STORIES" CAST - 01/24/09 12:03 AM

The cast of the TV show "GHOST STORIES" is giving tours on the Battleship USS North Carolina docked at Wilmington, NC this weekend. There has been talk for years that this ship is haunted and has had ghostly visitors. The caretaker is always hearing doors shut by themselves and people walking around the ship when he is alone there. They must think there is something or someone on that ship or they wouldn't be here. The former warship is a very popular attraction in Wilmington. My husband had visitors from Japan to his company and that is all they … (2 comments)
