Yes here they are in all their glory - nudists doing their thing to promote their idea of a fun weekend in our greater Wilmington area. We do have a nudist camp in Southeastern NC. Are you in this picture? Then you know how much fun it was or how much fun I missed. In an effort to promote our area and show all its " good traits" and happenings I wanted to include this. Eagles Nest is an attractive "leafy" neighborhood with a good midtown location. It has access to busy College Road and all its conveniences and to Beasley Road on the backside which is a connector to a lot of highly traveled back roads such as Greenville Road.

The 39th annual Sorosis benefit Antique Show is planned for this weekend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday bargain hunters of all kinds can expect to find unique and hard to find items at the Coastline Convention Center. Over 30 dealers are expected to participate. Some of the dealers are from Wilmington's Antique district downtown on Castle Street most notably Michael Moore Antiques, Adams on Castle Antiques and more. The cast of the TV show "GHOST STORIES" is giving tours on the Battleship USS North Carolina docked at Wilmington, NC this weekend. There has been talk for years that this ship is haunted and has had ghostly visitors. The caretaker is always hearing doors shut by themselves and people walking around the ship when he is alone there. Local officials met today to endorse the possibility of the new Air Force One Museum being built in Wilmington, NC. Howie Franklin, a local resident, is on the board of the search committee. Mr. Franklin previously served all 5 previous presidents as their coordinator for all flights and details for each activity planned for Air Force One. Due to his experience Mr. Franklin was selected for this committee. Other locations, besides Wilmington are also being considered. The city of Wilmington, NC has agreed to contribute $ 7 million towards a huge north end Riverfront project. The city council passed this resolution November 5, Wednesday night to assist in extending the Riverwalk to this project and with installation of some of the infrastuture and help with the riverfront bulkhead of this project. This is a $750 million project of over 200 buildings scheduled to be constructed within the next 20 years.
